The globe-trotting writer returns (briefly)
Van picked up Lily and twirled her around… just like in the movies. “I thought you wouldn’t be back for a few more weeks?” He asked the question, but it was obvious that he was ecstatic to have her home earlier than anticipated.
“I am book toured out,” Lily revealed, and once Van set her down, I could see the drawn, tired look in her eyes. “I’m only here for the night, but I needed a break from all of that talking about myself, and we were close by, so…”
The only one more excited to see Lily than Van, was Rascal. Obviously having had enough waiting while Van hugged her, Rascal scooted in between them and wiggled his body against Lily.
“There’s my sweet boy!” Lily gushed, bending down to hug her giant baby.
