Hidden problems

The heat pressed across her skin , nawing at her flesh. She bit her lip and curled into a ball , lightness covered her eyes. She began to hear heaven cry , as she was blind .

Then the light dissipated with her begging not to go . The inky blackness took over , Amory tried to move her fingers but couldn't .

Jack was burnt , his back was covered in blisters. He tried to stand up but was to dizzy and weak . So he laid beside Amory , to scared to touch her , to scared to even look at her . He was too afraid that he wouldn't feel her heart beating . That he'll see her lifeless body.

So he laid beside her and watched the green walls fuzz into blackness.

"Jack ? Jack what's wrong?" He opened his eyes to find himself under the tree .

The tree were Amory fell asleep leaning on his side , the warmth on her body pressing against his own . "Amory ?" She stood under the tree with the moonlight dancing on her skin. Her eyes looked like the stars they sparkled so brightly. She placed her hand on his shoulder , looking him in the eyes.

Jack's heart skipped a beat . "I'm fine , Amory there something wrong with you !" Jack felt his heart skip a beat . "There is Jack ! Don't let them fine me ! Jack please , they will kill me !" Amory ran into his arms and Jack shelded her . "Amory , what's going on who?"

He felt her heart beating against his own .

It was so fast ! How was she even alive or breathing ? " Who's going to get you Amory?"

Jack pulled apart from the hug and shook her . He looked her in the eyes , She starred into his with tears streaming down her cheeks. She opened her mouth and spoke with no words . Jack tried to read her read her lips but was to dazed and confused.

"Amory!" Jack opened his eyes , tears streamed down his cheeks . He looked down at her , still unconscious . Her body numb , her hair fell over eyes . She looked angelic .

Jack picked her up cradling her body .

"Amory wake up ! Wake up you stupid b***h!"

He keeled over he body and cupped her face .

He slowly pressed his ear against her chest .

He held her hand in a tight fist , feeling for a heart beat . And he did , he heart was booming . He jolted back in fear , he never felt something like that . But he did it again , this time he felt her warm breath against his cheek. She was alive but for how long .

She wasn't good , something was wrong !

Jack stood up trying to find a way out , it was so dark he couldn't see the escape hatch .

He guided his hands across the walls feeling for something . Anything from a button to a lever . "Jack?" A small whisper echoed in the tank . His heart jolted . A collapsed beside her and gentle lefted her in his arms .

"Amory?" She looked up into his eyes , she slightly smiled but it fell into a frown .

"Jack ..go." She pushed his hand away .

"No! Amory no way ! " He covered her with over coat. Amory blackout again and again .

Jack found water and each time she woke up , he let her take a drink. No matter how dry his throat came he never took a sip .

Amory got better and was able to sit up , her wings helped her too stay up straight .

"Why didn't you leave ?" Amory asked .

"I wouldn't leave a person behind . No man left behind , Amory . Specially someone like you ." Amory studied his eyes , a deep pain filled her chest . A pain she had shoved down along time ago . It was love , love from a friend . "Why am I so special?" She studied his movement as he shifted his body . She waited for him to tell her it's was her beauty , her body and what they all looked at her for.

"Its because your strong ." Jack spoke.

Amory choked in her words , she was startled by his comment . "what?"

"Amory , your strong , brave and courageous ! Your the type of person who.... bring everyone to the table. It would suck to loose you !" Amory felt tears in her eyes , all her pain was gone . He just took it all away , just like that . She wiped her tears away , and smiled . "Thankyou !" She breathed out , she almost choked on her words .

"Were stuck you know ?" He glanced over at her . "We are?" Her eyes wondered around the tank . "Were in top of the catch ."

Amory looked down to see her boots covering the lid . "s**t ." Amory pulled her hair . "Back up will have to come here , to scan the place for survivors . " It was long moment of silence before anyone spoke.

They were both in alot of pain , Amory still had blurry vision and Jack couldn't stand .

"So tell me about your self ." Amory spoke out avoided eye contact . "What?"

"What? Were gonna be stuck down here for a while , why be stuck down here with a stranger ?" Amory joked , Jack smiled and rolled his eyes . "Fine , but I'm going first!"

Amory giggled slightly but forced it down .

"Were are you from ?" Amory's eyes shot up , her heart felt like it bursted. "Uh ..what?"

"Were are you from , you have a strange accent ?" Jack replied

"I'm from ..." Amory paused, thinking for a place were an accent is on earth .

"Australia , I'm from Australia."

"Okay my turn , why did you join the military?" Jack almost didn't awnser her back , but she answered him . It was only fair and he trusted her . "I joined to make my father proud , he ..uh died a couple years . He was a commanding officer like me . And I dunno I wanted to make him proud . But what I never knew was a girl I was with.

She left me ages ago , had kids . I figured this out when it was to late I jad already been to war . The damage was done and I only got to be with them for a year . That uh ..why I didn't want the letter . Sorry I got so bad , the truth is I'm just angry at myself . What kind off father am I to leave there kids dead scared if there father's gonna make it .

What kind of dad am I ?" Jack had a tear down his face . "Jack ..you have a family .

They love you and they should understand .

The fact that you care so much is what makes you a good father . But ignoring them wont make better . It's just going to make them feel worse . Your lucky to have a family . " Amory choked out .

"That's some wise s**t Amory . But what about you ? Do not have a family? "

Jack bit his tonge wishing he could take his words back .

"I did but ... They threw me out !" Amory's voice cracked , she took a deep breath and fought her tears away . " Something happened with me and they decided I was ...not good enough and too wrong ."

Amory fought with her words , battle with what to say .

"I guess we both got some issues ." Jack playfully elbowed her . "Forget about them Amory , if they can't see what your made off . How special you are , they suck . They don't deserve you . " Amory looked into his eyes , choked on her words and emotions .

She really found peace with who she is and it feels good .
