The Forest In A Blaze

Amory's heart boomed in her chest as she walked through the b****y crowd . There where people covered in dirt and mud . Some where horrible injured ,covered in blood. It made her stomic churn . Amory had harsh blister's across her head and down her back . Her wings where brunt badly and stung at touch . But she hide them anyways . Her arm was red and covered in blood. The shards from the plane window had cutt her. Smoke still burned her inside her lungs. The wind blew grimly against her , blowing smoke in her red eyes . It stung her blisters brutally . Huge holes sunk into the ground from the misles. Some where still burning , the forest behind was in a blaze . "Jack!"

Amory called out . Her heart boomed over the screams and cries for help. She raced around the broken facility. Her heart sunk , Amory nearly fell to her knees. Dark blood stang the mud around her. Burnt bodies stuck from the ground like zombies. There eyes where open and stared at nothing. Real tears started to flooded down her face .

"This isn't fare ." She whispered aloud . There skin where burnt black and sparks of ash glowed on there bodies . They where good people , why would they get this ?

Amory didn't know them , and she was glad she didn't want to. The thought of knowing them and then seeing them like this...."Shut up!" She told her self. Dreadful cries echoed through the burnt air . Amory was frantic ! She had to find Jack ! What if he was hurt or worse.

Wheres Greta !? The though hit her like a shard of glass. Greta was her first friend in for ever! "Greta!" Tears streamed down her face and splashed into the mud soaked in blood.

A dreadful feeling washed over Amory. It was like. ..when she ran away. The thick smoke wrapped around her like a twister until she was lost . Trap in a burning haze of smoke and ash. Her lungs begged for clean air but her heart screamed for Greta , benny and Jack.

Amory saw John . She ran up to him as fast as she could run . Her feet hit the ground and never stoped. "John! John ! Where's Jack?" She tugged on his uniform with pleading tears. He looked down at her , it was a lost and sad look . Like a puppy who's been dump . "His plane went down in those woods. Amory , his not coming back. We sent five troops out there to find them . No one can find him." "That doesn't mean his dead! " Amory pleaded . Amory thought about giving up . She gasped and looked into his sad grey eyes . She saw her shimmering reflection. At first she didn't recognize herself. Her face was red with blisters down the left side off her face. This is who she was , she wanted to save lives. She wanted to do the thing the those wiches took away from her . Something she thought she could never do again. Help lives . "It doesn't mean it's dead." Amory whispered . Her heart skip a beat. Amory gulped and took of with her feet slamming the ground . She was out of breath and dizzy from the lack of clean air .

She came face to face with a burning forest. Flames wildly danced on the trees. Limbs cracked and fell in the distance.

hesitantly Amory step into the swirling fog of black smoke.

Now , she was far into the woods. Each step she took was harrowing . Her legs where stift and burnt . She could barley breath she had seen his plane in the fare distant . But what if jumped. Piercing raw pain filled her legs .

The scenery was blurry and felt like it was tilting . Amory collapsed to the ground. Was this it her sweet death. Then in the midest of the blurry forest , there he laid .

He looked dead , what if he was . He didn't move. What if she just lied here and died with him? But she could . Amory couldn't give up like that . She weakly raised to her feet. She wobbled side to side trying reach him . She fell twice but got back up . She couldn't breath. Amory gasp but there waa no air left to breath . She put her palm on his chest . She felt it slowly rise up and down. He was breathing ! He was still alive! Amory struggled to drag his weightless body. She tried to pick him up but couldn't. Her eyes stung , tears filled her eyes but it didn't help . The tornado of smoke sallowed them howl.

Amory stand still for quite moment. Anger , full rage filled her soul. This isn't fare why should she die and loose her best friend !

Why her ! " Why always me!" She screamed into the sky . She looked down at his numb body . A sharp breath left her lungs.

She trudged through the flaming forest .

Ash filled the ground in piles she walked on.

Each step she took the flew ! The tinny specks of ash subsiding away from Amory !

Each step , each stomp she took got her closer to surviving. This is what Amory wants to do and she's is determine to make it happen and not loose her friend! Amory never stopped even when her legs stung to where she grinded her teeth . Where each step she took made her legs fell numb.

She rised out of the smoke like a phenoix ! She never took her feet of the ground .

"Help!" Amory yelp. The anguish biting pain throbbed through her entire body. "Hey ! Help!!" A small figure came racing toward them . " Finally !" Amory gasp out as she fell to the ground . The hot grass brushed against her as she laid unconscious . Even though Amory was covered in ash , blood and blisters she was still radiant .
