Jack stuck the bomb at the roof off the tank .

"1 minute ,Amory." They huddled behind bullet proof shields , protecting each other.

Amory tensed her body up waiting for the loud pop. We're is it ? She thought , the palms of her hands were over her beating heart. KABOOM! Amory jumped , she felt her years pop with an blaring ring . Smoke filled the tinny space . "Hurry!" Jack graved her hand. Amory felt herself beging dragged through the smoke . She felt her feet leave the ground as Jack pulled her out threw the hole . She felt dizzy as she watched the rest of the tank collapsed into the ground.

" Oh my god!" Amory laughed out , she smiled at there success. "How the f**k ate we alive ?" Jack asked as he bent over laughing. " holy s**t were alive !" Jack exclaimed , he graved Amory embracing her into a tight hug . He patted her head moving his fingers through her hair. Amory sunk into the hug , melting into his arms at a gentle touch. Jack held his breath as Amory tightened her grip, like he was raft in a ocean of storms. She let a painful breath , Amory couldn't remember the last time someone hugged with the true passion he did. The sun shined down on as they finally got fresh air . They both felt light enough to walk on water but there peace didn't last long .

A rain of bullets came down on them as they raced into the woods . The ground quaked as the feet of hundered men raced across the field. Amory felt the bullets shattering by her wings. She ran behind Jack protecting him from the blanket of metal rain. She felt a cold metal ball as it broke through her skin.

Amory stumbled nearly falling , Jack helped her up . Pulling her away from the danger.

"Strike em down!" Amory heard the flare of a missile soared into the sky . She felt the missile eyes staring down on her.

Running an unbeatable race , she knew they had to get to safety. "Get down!" Amory threw Jack and herself into a cave as the missile fired into the woods. Fire tour the sky apart. Blistering smoke rised out of flames choking the air. The army men retreated , Amory gave a sign of relief.

"Jack were ok!" Amory gasp out , tugging st at him . But there was no answere .

She flipped head around and moved her hand to tug at his spiky hair. "Jack?"

Amory felt something thick and warm sticking to her fingers. She flipped Jack over , Amory thought she might pass out .

A deep pit sunk into her stomic as blood dripped from a deep gash from Jack's head.

"Jack?" Amory voice cracked , tears filled her eyes. "Jack wake up!" She shook him , nothing . She felt for his heart beat or the rising of his chest. Nothing, there was nothing . He wasn't breathing ! "Jack you f*****g move ! I swear ! Jack please ! Please!" Amory knelt over his lifeless body. She begged for his life , cupping his face she cried. "No ! No!" She hugged him with her ear to his heart . "I have to. do something! Jack??" Amory pleaded. "Not him! Why couldn't have taken me ! I deserve death! " She tried to screamed but her tears gagged her. "Okay. Okay , I'm going to save you ." Her voice was shaking , her heart boomed into her ears . It was so loud, the beating! Amory couldn't hear her own voice over the crashing of her heart. She held both off jscks hands . Knelting over his body , she bumbed her forehead against his . She closed her eyes. feeling for the electricity coursing through her beging . She focuse on the energy built inside her. Tears splashed onto Jack's face, as light spilled out of Amory. Her eyes ignited with a golden light. Her wings spread out in irradiance each feather
