" So do you think Reuben meant what he said ". they were back home and resting in the king's quarters, but Killian was concerned.

" He won't come seeking for vengeance? ".

" That is left to him, Killian if he doesn't value his life, then I'm going to take it with joy, if he touches lucilda that's a direct attack on me and the crown and you know the response to that. Vampire or not lucilda's his queen and I have made it clear to him that I won't under any circumstance tolerate his or his daughter's nasty behavior".

"Left to me in the first place, she should be persecuted for attacking my mate unprovoked".

The manner in which Damien called lucilda his mate without hesitation brought a smile unto Killian's face and he couldn't help but feel happy for his friend and he wished his friend would try to acknowledge the vampire princess.

He thought of ways to get Damien to accept the princess and also a way to get the princess to give his friend a chance.

he knew they were both stubborn and that they had gone through a lot individually so he knew that it would take time for them to heal, but they had to atleast begin somewhere.

And he was going to try to give them the correct push towards the right direction for them to do somethings.

" Well if we're done here, I wanted to drop by lucilda's room to give her her schedule for tomorrow ".

" Schedule? ".

" what schedule and why haven't I heard of it before ".

" her work schedule and I'm very sure you were the one who made the order for her to do some chores Damien ".

" well stop it, stop me, I don't want her doing anything, I don't want her to lift a finger anymore, she's been through alot already.

" wow, are you sure everything's fine Damien?, you sounded like you cared about her a while ago ".

" well I don't really have a choice, I can't do anything about it and honestly I'm tired, it's not easy, me having to argue with my lycan all the time, this back and forth. honestly I'm tired. if the goddess chose her as my mate, my other half, then I'm going to try to work things out with her, although it won't be easy I know for sure, she's got quite a temper and we both started off on the wrong foot ".

Damien laughs.

" But what do I know, I'm just going to go with the flow ".

" In that case, I wish you best of luck ".

he pats his shoulder.

" And I pray to the goddess she gives you a tough time ".

he bursts out laughing.

" I don't think you need to offer prayers about that mate, she's going to make me sweat it " .

he sits down on his chair.

" But I want you to watch your back, she might be your mate now but a few weeks ago she wanted your head on a platter, and she doesn't feel the effect of the bond like you do, she's smart I give her that so be careful. I'd hate to explain to the upcoming generation of demegran's how a king let his mate destroy him ".

Damien chuckled.

" Don't worry I'll be fine, I'll be able to handle it ".

" And the council, I'm sure they will object to this, what will you do about them ?".

" Hmmm...I'm going to look for a way out of that ".

" The rebellion will be strong, I can already feel it ".

" Can I count on you to be by my side through it all? ".

Damien asks his friend.

Killian goes on one knee and faces his king. " I promise you with everything that I am my king, I will always be here for you no matter what happens. if the goddess decides that the vampire princess becomes our queen, then I accept that decision wholly.

And I'm going to protect her and the crown with my life ".

"Arise Killian my dear friend, I know I can always count on you.

" And my Lord?, How about the other vampire warriors, we've been putting their execution on hold ".

Well Killian in the light of things now, I don't think my mate would appreciate me slaughtering her kind especially now that we're trying to sort things out, we're going to have to look into that sentence once more.

Killian couldn't escape the laughter from coming out even if he wanted, Damien was whipped.

He couldn't even believe it was the friend he's known almost all his life that was standing before him.

Now he could believe everything he'd heard about what the mate bond does, he's already seeing it's effects first hand.

Damn!!!!, the moon goddess didn't play fair one bit.
