Chapter 5

KRIPGIN KINGDOM

(Vampire kingdom)

As soon as father leaves, I sit beside my mother and I start talking to her, I tell her about what's been going on with me these past few days and I tell her about father going to war in a few days time.

I chuckle to myself and I also tell her about how stubborn father is, thinking about how she'd react if she were awake makes me laugh, a few tears fall along with the laughter.

" I miss you alot mom, everything is different without you here, things have been somehow without you. I'm sure you already know that things aren't really working in our favour and it's been really tough these couple of months and now dad's planning on going out there to battle". I pause and take a deep breath.

" I've been trying to get him to change his mind but like you know he's so stubborn mom, and there's something I have to tell you". I pause and look round as if trying to assure myself that there's no one other than me in the room.

" I went to see the witches mother, and they told me there's another way to end this war, they said I have to go to the battlefield mother, they said my going there will put an end to all this, I don't know how that will work but as long as there's a chance I'm willing to take it mother, and now I don't know how to get father to understand me, I tried telling him about it and he refuses to listen to me.

" I don't know what to do mother, now that I know that there's a way, I have to take the risk of going to the battlefield". I lie beside her and take a hold of her hand, I'm so confused mom, I really wish you could help out in times like this, I miss you alot mom". I snuggle deeper into the bed.

I fall asleep in that position and while sleeping I have a vision like dream, I see an ancient moon seed known to weaken vampires, it's not fatal but it makes the vampire who ingests it weak for a couple of days and become completely powerless.

I wake up with a gasp and turn to face my sleeping mother." mother why didn't I think of this in the first place, I know what to do now, but first I must ask for your forgiveness mother but honestly I have no choice I must do this". I say while rushing out of the room.

I remember the moon seed is only grown in the healer's garden, that's the only place that was thought safe enough to grow them, I have to be creative in getting this seed else I get caught and my plans get exposed.

I make my way to the healer's house, going to his place isn't going to raise eyebrows as I go there time to time to receive some herbs for my sick mother.

once I reach there I see him busy mixing some potions at the back room and I go on to meet him.

"Greetings Amol"

he stops what he is doing to greet me " greetings to you too princess, how are you doing today?".

" fine thank you Amol I just felt like coming down here to help out today". I say smiling.

I can see that Amol is happy with my being here as his face immediately lights up in joy.

"That's pretty nice of you princess thank you so much, how is your mother the Queen by the way?". he asks showing concern

Hearing about my mother puts away any doubts I might have about going on with this plan as I know that I have to do this for her and I compose myself immediately before answering solemnly

" well Amol, she's still the same, she doesn't even move, you can hear her heartbeat but that's all, I'm so worried Amol, my mother's condition isn't getting better".

Amol has been there all our lives, he's like that old grampa that I never got to meet but he's still there for me whenever I need a listening ear. He lives alone in his little house/clinic and attends to the sick there, he never found his mate and thought it weird and improper for him to choose a choice mate so he has been single all his life. But that hasn't hindered his affection towards people in anyway. he's still the best there is.

Amol moves towards me and engulfs me in a hug" don't worry lucilda it's going to be fine, your mother's a fighter, she won't go down that easily, I have faith in her and you should too".

"Thank you so much Amol, I really needed that". I say returning the hug.

"Now let's see what I can help you with today". I say hanging my cloak at a corner.

"you came right on time princess, I was about making some pain medicines for the warriors to take back to the battlefield" he answers me

"oh ok, I think that should be pretty easy to make, do you have everything you might need" I ask

" yes, wait noo...help me with some Kai flowers from the garden please, I'm a little short on them here". he says.

It seems like today is my lucky day, I have the chance to get those seeds now, I say okay and find my way out of the house, the garden is just a few meters away from the house and I move deeper to the spot where I know the seeds are grown, I see them planted at the very end of the garden and an uncontrollable smile breaks out on my face, cause right now it looks like my sunshine after a very bad rainstorm and I know that my troubles are already coming to an end.
