Lucilda was looking for the perfect opportunity to ask the king for a favour, she had been thinking of her mother the queen these past few days and she wanted to ask the king for a chance to please give her permission to get the cure for her mother.

She knew her health would have deteriorated alot, she could feel it in her bones that her mom wasn't okay, and what kind of a daughter would she be if she was in a position where she could be of help to her mother and she was being mute about it.

She was feeling disgusted with herself for being in a situation to help and doing absolutely nothing to help rather than just playing tricks.

She had asked a guard to notify the king that she wanted to see him and she received a message back that he presently isn't in the palace, he went to inspect some of the ongoing projects in the lower villages but would be coming back soon enough if nothing requires his urgent attention.

She was anticipating their meeting, she knew it wasn't going to be easy, nothing ever was when it came to her matter but she was going to have to try her best to make their meeting a pleasant one just so she could win him over, She believed she could manipulate the mate bond well in her favour, she had heard that lycans were too soft when it came to their mate, most especially their fated mate, they were scared of desecrating the bond and making the goddess angry so they respect their mates alot and treat them better than anyone or thing alive.

Their mates play a very vital role in their life to the extent that if a mate were to die the other one won't be able to handle it and they could run mad or worse die. She was planning on capitalizing on that piece of information to help her now.

she was thinking of what to do exactly when she received word that the king was around and was ready to see her.

She moved with quietly to the king's study where she was informed he would be, on arrival, she was escorted in. When he saw her, he welcomed her with a smile and helped her sit, she was grateful for his reception and thanked him a small smile.

"I can't help but wonder what was so important that you requested to see me, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shocked".

" why do you think there must be a reason for my coming to see you".

" That's cause I know you princess, you won't waste your precious time leaving the comfort of your room just to come see me, you're more than that".

lucilda smiled inwardly, he's good. he can read her like a book.

" And since you're so sure your highness about there being a reason for me to come here, why don't you tell me something"

"Ask right away".

" will I have my heart desire granted to me today".

" And what is it the princess desires?".

"For my mother". lucilda looks him straight in the eyes.

Damien's face hardens once he hears that." I don't know how that's any of my business princess or what exactly I can do about it".

Lucilda knows he isn't telling the truth, even if she isn't sure of many things in her life she can be sure if the fact that the lycan king seated right before her knows what exactly she's talking about, She knew her father the vampire king of kripgin had times without number, looked for an audience with the king just to plead him to give him a chance to go into the part of the forbidden valleys that's occupied by the lycans to get the Kai flowers

" you know what exactly I mean Damien".

His reaction was instant, he was shocked but he smiled.

" And what exactly do you know lucilda?".

I know you have the Kai flowers in your possession, I know you refused my father access to it. and now I'm begging you, I haven't ever asked you for anything ever since I came here, this will mean a lot to me please Damien".

He looks calm, cool and collected for sometime and then he comes towards my side. you want my help to save your mother right, you want to give your father the queen he so desperately needs at this point in time, you want hope back to your people or don't you princess, then I have the right to demand for something too lucilda, I didn't become who I am today out of generosity. I pause and stare into the eyes of a man who i know is ready to do anything to have what he wants and won't hesitate to play dirty.
