We walked side by side to the dining hall, we were already late but they had no choice but to wait. Damien would just make an apology to the visiting king and his daughter and their entourage.

On entering the dining Hall, I made sure I entwined my fingers with his own, I felt the electric current between us immediately our hands touched, he turned and stared at me and I knew that if it weren't for the fact that heads were already turning to stare at us, Damien would have done something I'd likely kick his ba**s for.

We moved to the head of the table and I noticed that that stupid princess was seated in the seat that's supposed to be meant for me, we hadn't really met before one on one but I was very sure she knew who I was, she knew he had found his mate and she was still making a move on him.

I was grateful to her for showing me that I was on the verge of loosing my advantage over the kingdom. Damien's people didn't like me one bit, they were only tolerating the fact that their goddess paired me with him, and I'm sure they didn't think I was worthy enough to be with him. If they find out that their king has a love interest in the person of the princess then they'd be an uprising. The people will insist that she's a better match than her and then they'd force their king to mate with Imelda. they'd ask their king to keep her like a mistress, she'd have a pitiful life and be miserable till the end of her days.

She then realized she had to step up her game and make sure that there wasn't any chance for Imelda in Damien's life. so that's why she set out to get her man( if you want to call him that) back.

Once she entered inside she could see that Imelda had lost her cool and started gripping the fork a little too hard. lucilda smiled and got ready for the main show.
