Chapter EightI SPENT THE long flight dragging Blake down memory lane. We reminisced about our training together, our time in Tokyo, everything fun that had ever happened and we’d shared. He relentlessly tried to stir the conversation to the present, get me to open up and talk to him about what had happened, but I squeezed my way out of all the tight corners he pushed me into. His shoulders drew up tight and his frown deepened, but he finally gave up and let it slide. I knew it wouldn’t last long though. When the pilot announced our descent, we buckled up and got ready.
