Blake stormed out of the room and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw me. He frowned and rushed to my side, inspecting my wounds.

I chuckled and grabbed the back of his neck, pulling him close and touching my forehead to his.
“I’m sorry, Blakey. It couldn’t be helped.”
“My ass it couldn’t,” he yelled in my ear, making me cringe. “You were just itching for a fight.”
I sighed and gave him a half smile. My broken lip was preventing a full one.
“They wanted leadership of the tribe, I told them they’d have to challenge us. Not my fault they were stupid enough to try it.”
