After dinner we take the lift to the third level, the observation deck. We are looking out over Paris when the light display starts and Serina jumps in shock.
"What's happening?"
"It's the Illumination. As soon as night descends the lights go off every hour for five minutes."
"Oh my god, it's beautiful."
I watch her as she watches the tower light up the Paris sky. Her awestruck look and wonder make me feel so happy that I brought her here. I have never desired to bring happiness to anyones life. Not even mine really. I don't strive to be unhappy but I have never sought out happiness.
But the pure joy on her face it's breathtaking and it makes me want to give her that joy every day. I want her to be in this state of happiness every time we are together. I b
