Chloe's struggles were fading fast. Her face had drained of all color, turning paper-white, and the glare she pinned me with burned with pure, searing hatred.
I stared back at her coolly, and let out a sharp, mocking snort.
Out of nowhere, Chloe tore free of the students who were holding her, gave a sudden, violent jerk, and lunged straight at me where I stood on the stage.
Absolute chaos broke out, and that's when school security came bursting into the hall. They tackled Chloe and her brother instantly, pinning them both to the ground before they could do any more damage.
Next, the school administrators stepped onto the stage and took the microphone from my hand.
