Shut up !!! Before you make me blow your head off!, Bebeto shouted at Mr Gonzalos .
Bebeto is one of Alberto's loyal men who help him in many of his dubious schemes. At the moment he has been sent by his boss to collect money from Debtors .
Moving his potbellied body he paces round the restaurant of the Gonzalos .
“I am really sorry, please business has not been moving well “. Mr Gonzalos goes on his knees.
“My daughter just graduated from college !! I promise to pay Don Alberto soon . Pa’ maco pleads.
Bebeto smirks, “ you signed the agreement, remember. It says here that if you are unable to pay up the money Don Alberto Should seize your restaurant, you and your wife will both go to jail.” he said
“I mean no harm please give us time”. Pa'amo begs
“Your time is gone , see the papers, Bebeto goes ahead to show him the paper.
just as he is talking Eva enters the restaurant. Wondering why her father is kneeling before this ugly looking man .
“ what us going on here ! Get up papa” Eva rushes to grab her father
“Who is this man and why is he shouting all over the place ?” She asked
“And who are you ?” Bebeto asks with his eyes wide open , he is startled by how beautiful yet the manner of confidence this lady standing before him exudes
“I asked you first ! Eva said placing her legs forward Eva looks Bebeto straight in the eyes in a way that tells him to try and not make any careless decision at that moment .
They face each other and you can feel the heat ,’ who is this fierce looking lady, doesn't she know who I am , who doesn't know that i work for the Draco family in this city, the almighty Don Alberto himself. She must be crazy because no person in his right senses will try to do any harm to anything that belongs to the Dracos it is the other way round.” Bebeto thinks so hard wondering who this girl is and why she is this beautiful.
“Who do you think you are that you can just come here and threaten my father . !! Eva says snapping Bebeto out of his thoughts
“Your father Is…. is . oweing money.” Bebeto said stammering. His boys look surprised, Bebeto is chickening out infront of this lady.
“Yes pa owes you money , but why can't you hear that he will pay do you have to enjoy seeing him in the state ¿” Eva says
Bebeto is amazed look how the lady standing before him is so beautiful yet awfully courageous to confront him that way . He decides he must tell Don Alberto Draco about this lady . “You and your family are all going to jail!!” He manages to say as he walks out of the restaurant.
POV : Few minutes later
Pa’ maco sits in his restaurant quietly looking blankly on the wall , there is no customer present and he had the moment to himself. He did not notice when Evelyn entered.
“Pa'Cho why do you look like you just had a nightmare ? Evelyn said sitting beside her husband.!
Alberto Draco sent Bebeto again
“We are in trouble!” Pa'amaco said
“Is that why you look so worried my love ? I told you not to worry yourself too much , you know it is not good fo your health” . Evelyn reiterated .
pa'amaco thanks the sky for giving him his wife , she has been the best gift he has got he thought .
Evelyn is a very supportive wife who had been with her husband through many difficult times. Together, they have been able to raise their daughter to become the fine beautiful lady she is .
Evelyn still had traces of her youthful Elegance and even from a distance one can say Eva fetched some of her beauty. She encouraged her husband and soon got up to attend to a customer. It was a few moments later that a young man came in bearing a letter .
“Is Mr Gonzalos here ? The young man inquired, “‘ who asks !” pa'amaco replied after hearing his name .
The young man hands the letter and heads straight out ‘ a letter for you sir ‘
Pa'amaco observes the letter curious to know its content, he opens the later to see the most devastating news of his whole life .
“Don Alberto has killed me “ he shouts
In a split second pa'amaco crashes on the floor with a heavy thud . Evelyn drops the plate in her hands and runs at her motionless husband,
“Pa'Cho…!! pa cho! Please don't die ! Someone please call the Ambulance .”
Evelyn beckons onlookers I love you Pa'Cho.”
On the next day Eva decides to go to the company to confront Don Alberto on why he should threaten to lock her parents if she is not given to him as a wife, because of that her father has collapsed Eva walks into the secretary's office in a rush .
“Where is he ? Alberto or whatever he calls himself. Where is that arrogant boss of yours”Eva asks furiously as she tries to push herself into the office of the CEO of globe Jewelry.
The slender secretary tries to speak to her but Eva will not just have it. “ miss my boss is busy now an appointment ….’
“I must see him now” , Eva cuts her short, shoving her hand off she rushes into the office as she is been chased by the secretary.
She finds herself standing face to face with the famous Don Alberto Draco ,this same Alberto, the same name that sends shivers down the throats of even the mightiest in the city of Florence. Alberto Draco has made a name for himself in the City and beyond, his father handed over the company to him only two years ago but he has to the delight of Don Draco increased the profits of this firm in Billions. He uses a means to lure unsuspecting locals into taking loans to help their small scale businesses. Through the outrageous percentage he places on each loan, he has been able to acquire a great deal of the city's estate to himself and the company. Besides this, he has a chain of casinos for pushing drugs and other related crimes. Even though the company brings billions in profit owing to the fact that it is one if the biggest distributor of jewelry and other luxury in the country , It is often said by some locals that he only uses the company as a cover for his other illegal business .
Now Eva stands before this notorious kingpin that has put her father on the sick bed But she Is not afraid. Sitting by the luxurious table an imported Italian maple , Alberto raises his head to see who his guest is. Looking her straight in the eyes Eva froze . Eva took a few steps backwards not believing her eyes. How can this man sitting in front of me smiling wickedly be Alberto”. She thought to herself. And then she forces the words out
