Chapter-7

It was the seventh day. And i don't work on Sundays unless and until there is a zero hour. I and Shriya had planned to visit Maya as she had invited us for the lunch. Needless to say, there was only a week left for the wedding. For the wedding, after which, I have to stay with the angry bird, together in the same room. Anyhow, i have to brainwash myself that, he is the male version of a spitfire and i seriously should prevent myself from drooling at his physique. Whenever, i recollect our engagement day, my vertebrae freezes, pulse exaggerates, patella jitters and everything inside my body streams themselves. I can't still figure out the feel but i am sure i would never stop thinking about that.

I was standing under the shower with all these thoughts whirling inside my head. But then i came to reality only when i heard a knock at the door.

'Dude, I am here already! Come soon!! ' Shriya, cheered from behind the door.

I soon finished my shower and got dressed and came out of the bathroom. Shriya was on my bed playing with my smiley ball.

' Atlast! You came out of the shower!! ' she exclaimed.

' No, Shriya. Every damn thing, gets into my head only when i get wet and i end up standing under the shower, thinking and thinking. ' i said out what I actually felt while I was blow drying my hair.

' What's bothering you so much!? Now, please don't tell me, that the wedding is disturbing you.  Both of you have planned already about your stuff and how it should be after the wedding!' she responded vigorously. 

'Yeah, but still! ' i refused.

' Trash the thoughts. We will face whatever happens, when it happens. Okay?! ' she asked me, rolling her butterball eyes.

' Okay mademoiselle! ' i chuckled.

' Shall we start?! ' she asked, spinning the car keys in her index finger that was polished in blood red color.

' Come on, let's step out. I will text Maya that we're starting! ' i said  with my eyeing my mobile screen, messaging Maya.

And the next sixth minute, we were shoved ourselves into the car, bidding a bye to my mom and dad.

Shriya turned on the music player and we jaunted in absolute sulk.

We reached Maya's home and got down from the car. Both of us entered the house and Maya received us in the living room.

'Welcome ladies! ' she cried out in joy.

We shared a group hug, settled on the couch with a bucket full of popcorn.  I just love to hangout( not literally hanging out just hooking up with loved ones and sit together for hours, talking and discussing about random stuff). Before, it was only I and Shriya and now there is Maya too.

'Maya, where is Akshay?!  I didn't see him, after the engagement. ' i asked stuffing popcorn into my mouth.

' He is out of the city on business. Actually, Tarun also had to go but then aunty didn't let him because we had wedding arrangements on air here.  So... ' she said and smirked and smiled. Her smile that exposed an irrgeular chopper teeth was so divine.

'No office today?!'  Shriya asked her.

'Actually, i was kinda faded and tired from last night. So I decided to leave it to Tarun today. I don't know what that poor boy does with no one there! ' she said smiling and supporting her friend.

I actually feel like banging my head to the wall whenever Maya supports Tarun. Afterall, they're buddies; i know this as a matter of fact but still she doesn't know how inscrutable he is to me!

She came to know what was in my mind, looking at my face.

'Cheer up, doll face. Want some smoothie?! ' she asked me, again with that divine smile.

I nodded my head postively, with a cheeky smile, twisting my lips. She strode towards the kitchen, I and Shriya followed her. She then started crushing few mangoes for the smoothie.

'Shriya! In a relationship?! ' she asked Shriya, winking.

' Yes, Ajay,  he is! ' Shriya responded immediately with thousand watt smile, blushing.

When she was ready blend the cut mangoes, her phone rang and she rushed to the living room. But soon, we heard, something falling off.

Being panicked, i came back to the foreroom and all i saw was Maya had blacked out and collapsed on the floor. The next second, my vision blurred but i regained my consciousness and approached Maya.

I knelt down, life her head and rested it on my lap. She was lying with zero conscience. ' Fetch some water, Shriya! Soon!'  i shouted, sitting where I was.

Soon, Shriya came running towards us, with a jug full of water. I grabbed the jug from her hands and splashed a little water on Maya's face. Her eyes blinked, trying to get back to senses.

I clutched and gripped her wrist to check if the pulse rate was normal.  It was pretty good. She got back her consciousness after few seconds. I, then told her that i can check what's wrong with her, if she is okay. She asked me to proceed. Only when i thoroughly examined her did I find out that she was conceived. Suddenly, my face beamed with happiness.

'Maya, you...! ' i uttered, in happiness unable to complete.

' I? ' she replied.

' You're fruitful! I mean, you're pregnant!! I chortled.

'Oh my god! Heera! Is it happening in real? Oh my god! ' she exclaimed in extreme happiness.

' Hey, congrats!! ' Shriya, hugged her.

Maya just smiled, she didn't have any words.

' I will notify Akshay and Tarun.! ' she said finally, with an enlightened face.

Soon, she called Akshay and informed him about the Ecstatic news! The way she opened up this to him exposed how much she was excited about this.

I was sitting inside my cabin with thoughts swirling inside my mind, of the doctor girl. I hate her and I know it.  But even though I repeated again and again that i hate her, it never made any sense to me. Soon, i was distracted by a call from Maya and I answered the call.

'Tarun! ' she exclaimed.

' Yes, Maya! What the matter! ' i asked casually'

'Tarun, Guess what!! ' she opened up.

' What?! ' i cackled.

' A little one will be joining us in few months. My dumpling! Akshay's divident! ' she was almost bursting out, when she ended.

' Maya! ' i almost hee-hawed

' Yes chap! ' she giggled.

' Wait there. I will inform mom, and come there! ' i said.

' But wait! I will say this to aunty!! You just come!! ' she tittered.

We hung up and i informed my P.A to take care of the other stuff! I rushed to Akshay's home.

I flooded into the living room and saw Maya!!

' Maya! You're a mom now! So, aunty! Maya aunty!! ' i teased her.

' Shut up Tarun! Stop taunting me! ' she said and that's when i noticed, Heera and Shriya were also sitting there.

' But Maya, which doctor did you consult  to confirm this! ' i questioned.

' I didn't go anywhere! Heera checked and declared! ' she said.

'She is a psychopath doctor. How will she possibly know about this!'  i was doubtful!

'Hey! I am not the psychopath! you're! Go and ask anyone, if a psychiatrist can check for pregnancy! Stop declassing me, you jerk!! ' she snapped at me.

' Yeah, a psychopath and now a jerk!! And now who is declassing?! ' i shrieked.

' It was you, who initiated this and when you talk too much, i can't retain my mouth zipped ! ' she barked again.

' Both of you! Do you guys want me to collapse again?! ' Maya snarled.

' Look at him, Maya! I told you, right! ' she signalled something.

'What? What??! What did you tell?... Maya! What did she tell!'  i shouted.

'Both of you are driving us crazy! Period please ' Shriya pleaded.

' I am sorry Maya.! ' she apologized.

' Maya! Sorry for the disconsolate! ' i apologized too.

But then, things got back to normal externally while we were clashing at each other with gestures. Narrowing and furrowing my eyebrows, i stared at her, like i am going to shoot her. Her orbs did not let me sustain the reaction on my face. Soon, i loosened up. And i have to say that, i felt the same way how i felt when i touched her fingers on that day! It felt like we're fighting to love eachother.  I realized that i was falling for her looking at her eyes. Come back Tarun! Don't do this!  I warned myself.

I actually felt a little awkward to be there, with three girls. So, i soon decided to return back to office. If i don't do this now, two things might happen, either I and Heera would start quarrelling again else i would be lost looking at her oculus. Trying to avoid these two situations, i decided to go back. I bade a good bye and drove back to office.

That is when i sniffed; sniffed out heavily after hearing that he would leave in sometime because, i didn't want him to be in my vicinity. I felt lackadaisical, before him. I was too fragile,  if i come out with the hatred towards him. I felt like losing myself to him, when we both stared at each other. I do not want all these to happen during these unborn days. So, i concluded to get rid of eye contacts that with him!

Soon, we decided to order pizza for lunch. As Maya told she was a little drained, physically! Soon, our piping hot, drooling pizzas arrived in and we had our lunch in perfect peace. I didn't bother to talk about the battle that happened, sometime ago.

'So, Maya! We will leave! ' i said to her with a little emptiness in my voice. All my mind, heart and soul togetherly was too controversial between the hate and amour that i felt for him.

' Seems like someone is falling for the chap! ' she said and laughed at me and it was Shriya! Shriya stimulated immediately laughing hard.

' My mind is seriously baffled. Now both of you please don't make it worse! ' i obliged.

' Ok ok, ease off! ' Maya said and leaned forward to hug me.

We soon started from there and reached home. Shriya went off after some time bidding good bye.
