Kade didn’t move.
His eyes locked on mine like he was seeing a ghost. Maybe he was.
Because the moment I stepped forward, he flinched.
I froze.
He looked the same—older, yes. But not shattered. His aura, once sharp and tense like steel drawn, was now… quiet.
Calm.
He wore command like a second skin.
“Say something,” I whispered.
His voice was rough. “You’re not real.”
My heart twisted. “It’s me.”
He took a cautious step back. “I watched you die.”
“I didn’t die. I—” My voice cracked. “I took her into me. The Mother. I sealed her. I… crossed.”
Kade blinked, confused. “You crossed?”
I touched my chest.
The Spiral scar burned faintly.
“Not time,” I said. “Worlds.”
