The escape room team barely made it through the whole challenge. The last thing they had to do was open a chest and the combination was not working correctly. Finally, someone had opened it in the last 15 seconds of the challenge. Inside the chest was a talisman with a red jewel on it. Without saying a word, Serena scooped it up and placed it in a hole on the temple wall right before the countdown hit one second. A voice came over the sound system, an ancient sounding voice saying that they had escaped being cursed and could now leave the Temple safely. The group cheered as Serena grinned widely, clearly pleased with her fast action that had won them the challenge.
"Beauty and brains. You, Ms. Serena, are very talented," Adriano whispered in her ear as he wrapped an arm around her waist.
