Bessie sits in a chair in her lab coat beside Regina’s bed, reading from a fashion magazine. “The latest must-have accessory for this winter is apparently the boyfriend scarf, besides a four-leaf-clover brooch, that is.” She leans towards the patient. “The scarf should be long enough to wrap around both your neck and his. How you can walk like that remains to be seen, ha-ha.” She gets up to feel Regina’s feet, which are ice cold.
