“Back with us sleep head?”
I didn’t recognise the voice.
“Hello.” I mumbled the words through dry lips as pain radiated through my upper body.
“Harper.” Sarah’s voice I did recognise as she flung herself into the bed next to me. “Thank god.”
“Hey it’s ok.” Awkwardly I patted her head. As she sobbed. “I’m ok why are you crying?”
“Thought I had lost you, never ever do that again do you hear me?” Her eyes were wild. “I can’t even bear to think about losing you or Diablo.”
My heart thundered to a screaming halt. “Diablo?” It came back in bits and pieces. The starry summer night , the deafening pop and then Diablos blood seeping our on to the concrete.
