Chapter 12

I stand there shocked and finally say, "This is a joke right?" "I'm afraid not," he answers. "How did you turn me into a horse shaper or whatever?" "Shifter," he corrects. "And it's simple. Picture your horse form when you are a human and then while your eyes are closed and picturing your horse form touch the person you want." I gasp. In school is when I first got the feeling and I did feel someone touch me.

"And why would Colton want me as a horse shifter?" I ask. "You seriously didn't know?" He asks. "Know what?" I ask impatiently. "Colton likes you." "What. The. HECK. Is. Going. On?" I ask him. "Why did he drag me into all this?" "I honestly don't know," but Colton made the person I want to be a horse shifter into a horse shifter. So I owed him."

Someone comes walking down the corridor. "Turn into a person and pretend to be petting me!" I whisper. He nods and squeezes his eyes shut. There is the familiar crackling and there is the Max I know. He stands up and pets my nose. The guy sees him and asks, "How the heck did you manage to tame her?" I rear up and back into the corner. "I'm so sorry if I scared her," the guy says. "It's fine," Max says. "I was just going to come out anyway."

He smiles a cute smile and then walks out of the barn. This is getting more and more interesting. I see Max walk to his barn and I know he is gonna turn back into Sunstruck. I sigh and munch on my hay. This day has been very dramatic and confusing. The boss comes in my stall, "Hey Beauty." I whinny and he pets my nose.

"I wish I could ride you," he says. I decide to grant his wish. I turn to the side so my side is facing him. He looks in disbelief and climbs on my back. I snort and he past my neck. He sits there for a few minutes then gets down, "I don't want to do too much at one time," he says with a smile. He hasn't really taken in the fact that he just sat on a wild horse.

He leaves my stall and I hear him mutter to himself, "5:20." That must be what time it is. I overheard some people talking about what time to feed the horses and they said 5:30. Or was it 6:30? I don't remember. I go into my pasture before they can close my door and look at the stars. I am gonna stay out here for tonight.

Pretty soon someone comes to feed me which means I was right about 5:30 feeding time. I quickly eat it and then sit there bored out of my mind. I go back into my pasture and when no one is looking I jump over the fence. I gallop off into the woods. I am gone for no longer than 15 minutes when I hear. "Guys! Come quick Beauty is gone!" The boss is talking. Crap.

I go in a big circle around the woods and come out on the other side of the barn. I have never seen this side because my stall is the first stall on the other entrance. Everyone is gone so I sneak back into my stall. A guy comes back in the barn from the main entrance and calls, "Beauty!" I whinny. He looks at me, "Beauty? How did you get here?" He calls to everyone saying that he found me.

I should totally do this more often. It's so fun. I rear as high as I can. And then I run into my pasture and try to go to sleep. I hear a guy say, "She is asleep out there. We need to get her in." But the boss says, "Let her stay. It probably reminds her of her freedom and it feels like home. We need her to be happy." The people nod and everyone walks away. It must be like 7:00. I doze off with the stars and moon as a roof and the night breeze blowing the trees.

I wake up to someone coming in my stall I look up, it isn't day time. I look at the person it is the guy. The guy that wanted to buy me. Or Magic or our foal. What is he doing? He notices me and turns around. I'm so tired I just close my eyes. The next thing I know there is a towel tied around my eyes and mouth. I rear and buck trying to get it off but it doesn't work. I don't know who is doing this but it's probably that guy.

The unknown person puts a rope over my head and leads me around in a circle. I now have no idea which direction I'm facing. I can't neigh to call help because the towel around my mouth. The person leads me out of the barn and turns me in four more circles. Then they lead me in some unknown direction. I rear up, "You horse better shut up and obey," he hisses. He leads me again and I find myself walking up a ramp. The ramp closes and I am in a horse trailer.

I decide to try what Max said. I squeeze my eyes shut and picture my human self and then the feeling comes. Soon there is a crackling and I open my eyes. I lift my hands and pull of the towels. I am a person. I need to find out how to get out. I look around but there is no way. I sit down, "Now what am I gonna do?" I look up and notice a camera. "Oh no," the person can probably see what I just did.

I really have to get out now. I squeeze my eyes shut and turn back into a horse. I know what I have to do. When I am a horse I read up and kick the camera with my hooves. I then stomp on it. There now no one saw it... I hope. I turn around a kick the door but it is locked from the outside. I am stuck...

We stop and I hear two people talking, "She's a horse shifter?!" "I already told you that Ben." "I don't remember that. Now what am I gonna do. She could just turn into a human when I catch her and get away. She has to die or be locked away forever." I freeze at this. The camera must be upfront so they saw. They will now kill me. I HAVE to get out. NOW but how?
