Melanie was grateful to be home and back with Alina. What with Tim’s employers and the Police themselves, it had been a tiring and emotional day. Stressful went without saying.
Not that either the people at Tim’s place of work or the Police were anything but courteous and sympathetic.
But then, given the degree of cooperation she had shown and the obvious strain her husband’s disappearance followed by the discovery of the client’s money – the same money she had, without his knowledge and using her own knowledge of both his work and personal online passwords, embezzled into various offshore accounts - why would they have been anything but?
