Tim Kennedy woke up cold.
Used to the reassuring warmth of a comfortable bed, his whole body had been numbed by sleeping in a lowered temperature and it had been the repetition of dreams where he had been freezing, no matter how he tried to warm himself, that had brought him awake.
That and a thumping head.
Reaching for the heavily togged duvet that normally covered him he found nothing and, opening his eyes with an effort, realized he was naked.
The sight greeting him beyond the outlines of his own body soon, if temporarily, made his concerns for the cold and the thumping at his temple redundant.
