ALEXANDER The worst days of your life always start off innocently enough. At first, they look like any other day, maybe even better, until they turn on you, ripping something out of your chest you’ll never get back. But this day—eighteen years ago, is one that’s forever engraved into my very being. It is the moment my life stopped belonging to me and became something else entirely. When you’re young, they assume you know nothing. They tell you to run along, to play with your toys, to stay out of grown-up matters.
