Inside the quiet hallway of Westside Mental Asylum, the door to Dr. Vexana Balmond’s private room slowly closed behind Sonia. The place smelled like flowers and clean linen. The curtains were half drawn, letting in soft light. Vexana smiled brightly when she saw Sonia step inside. “There you are,” Vexana said, quickly walking to her. “I missed you.” Sonia let her arms fall around Vexana’s shoulders, returning the hug gently. “I missed you too, Vexana.
