“Careful! He’s bleeding badly!” Aaron shouted as he helped Leo out of the police car. Two other officers rushed beside them and helped carry Leo inside the emergency entrance of the hospital. Blood soaked through Leo’s uniform from the gunshot wound on his shoulder. “Get a stretcher!” a nurse called out. Angela ran close behind them, tears in her eyes. “Leo! Hold on, please!” Leo winced in pain but looked back at her. “I’m okay… don’t cry.” Doctors and nurses quickly surrounded him and rolled the stretcher away.
