Leo slowly opened his eyes. The bright light in the hospital room made him blink several times. His head felt heavy. His whole body was weak, and it took a few seconds before he realized where he was.
He sat up a little and rubbed his eyes.
“Where… Where is Angela?” he mumbled.
A nurse who was fixing the medicine beside his bed turned to him and smiled.
“Oh, you’re awake. You gave us a scare,” she said softly.
Leo looked at her with worry in his eyes. “Angela… Where is she? She was here, right?”
The nurse nodded. “If you mean the pretty woman who stayed with you, yes. I saw her leave earlier. Maybe she just went to buy food.”
Leo frowned. “Did she say anything before leaving?”
The nurse shook her head. “No. She looked tired, but calm.”
