Gideon pov Dealing with these workers was another, with their level of incompetence. Who even hired this lady in front of me? Not me, of course, because I can't handle such incompetence. "What is this? How many times will I correct it? Can you even handle this? Who even employed you here?" I scolded. "I'm sorry sir, it was an honest mistake." "Fix this in the next 10 minutes", I roared at her. The door to my cabin crib opened and the last person I ever expected came in. "You shouldn't act that way to your workers, " he motioned to the secretary to leave while I adjusted a little. He never visits the company unless something is up. "I can't handle their incompetence", I voiced out. "Probably I can't handle yours either," he said in a husky tone. I narrowed my eyes when he dropped a magazine on my desk. I looked through it with widened eyes. "News cast, best player in the world, congratulations!" He said sarcastically with a tone of disappointment written all over him. "How did this happen?" I asked no one in particular. He closed the gap between us. I could feel my heart racing and some sweat forming at the back of my neck. I felt hot all of a sudden in an air-conditioned office. "You are ruining my reputation, young man. How many opportunities are l'm I going to take with you? I gasped for air as he voiced out. "You can't handle your social life, you keep staining your stupid lifestyle with my company's reputation. You don't have any clue of how I got this company to this extent, and you want to bring it down with your sort of stupid lifestyle. I dared not interrupt him, as he kept going on and on. I don't know how I got to such an uncompromising position with the girl I met at the bar. How could she do that? She probably knew who I was. "You are lucky I got this erased from the internet and I don't think I can keep covering your tracks. "You need to settle down," he said in conclusion. "What! Dad… "You don't have any opinion on this matter. I have granted you enough chances to prove yourself but you keep messing up. "The wedding is in two weeks", he dropped the bombshell. "Two weeks". I widened my eyes and adjusted my tie, it felt like it was clinging to my neck so hard. "You're getting married to the most beautiful and well-brought up lady. I had to lay my investigation on her before choosing her and your mum is so excited to have her as her daughter-inlaw. "Mum is part of this, she can't do this to me." I blinked my eyes several times and pinched myself multiple times to shovel out of this dream, but every time I looked up, my dad was right in front of me. It wasn't a dream, it was real. "Emily Donald, will be your wife in the next two weeks." I couldn't hold it anymore. I burst out laughing, this could be a prank. "Dad yank off from those pranks" you got me, but you're joking, right? "This ain't no joke son, I mean every word I said". I could feel migraines on my head, causing me some headache and I was profusely sweating. "You're putting me into an emotional torture, you didn't think about my happiness." Looking into his old wrinkled blue abated eyes, I was unable to digest the news. He had a grinning smile. "You should have thought of that before ruining my reputation." He pulled out the briefcase he had, placed it on the table. I narrowed my eyes. He pulled it open and searched for something inside and placed the documents on the table. "Read through and sign those." I read through it speedily and couldn't steady my pace of breathing. "What! You are going to give all these out to Austin. I can't be an object to your threat" "You got it right son, I'm willing to send all these to Austin if you don't agree to my terms. You should be happy I made the right choice for you. "I'm a man, Dad… not 15 years old, you can toy around." "Show me you are man ,enough by picking up your responsibility." He said in a sharp and cold turn. "Give me six months, just six months. I will bring for you the girl I would love to marry." "Enough! He slammed on the table, closing the distance between us. I could feel his breathing on my face. He looked me in the eye, balls to balls. "I gave you one year you demanded the last time but it came out worthless." The memory sank in as he had approached me to settle down last year. I was in a rush to lay him off but didn't put any consideration to whether he took it seriously. I scratched my head as I remembered. He took it damn seriously, but I loved my life, living it to the fullest. I got my needs all settled. I'm every girl's dream with my grey eyes, dimples and cute face and personality. I get to have every girl I want, but not get entangled in the shallows of marriage to just one girl. I can't marry a girl. "What did you do? Nothing, instead you were on the front page of the magazine, he said and clapped his hands sarcastically. "I'm done here, you just have 20 seconds to put down your signature. I couldn't comprehend as I input my signature and gave him back the papers. He collected it in silence and left. I heaved a sigh of relief, sitting down on my chair, thinking of how it feels to be a married man.
