Jasper Finding her was easy. Mostly because I knew where she was and had been watching her since she was sent to earth. It had been centuries since the prophecy. Centuries of me patiently waiting. And I was in no way disappointed. Thalia Rivers was a sinful being. Even more beautiful than her mother. Aphrodite couldn't hold a candle to her. Well Aphrodite's face has never been entirely clear to me. It probably has to do with the fact that I don't have a set perception of beauty. I guess now I do. "What exactly is your plan Deimos?" "Please don't call me that." I winced. "It is your name." Thanatos chuckled. "Yeah well it sucks." I said still watching the girl. She had her own little daily routine. I knew it like the back of my hand. It was the most boring thing on the planet. How could she possibly spend every day like that? "Well it's a very fitting name. Fear, the very emotion you thrive on." Thanatos said smirking leaning against a tree. "Aren't you supposed to be ripping souls or something oh god of death?" I asked glancing at him. "You look a little grim." "Hilarious" he scowled. "That was a great joke." I smiled. "Your mother knows she's alive. I'd advice you to get on with your plan already. The girl's twenty-one now it's only a matter of time before Persephone sends someone else to kill her." He said ignoring me. "She tell you that during your last little rendezvous?" "f**k you." Thanatos grumbled. "Maybe later." I smirked. He hit me on the back of my head and I held in my laugh. Picking up his scythe, he walked through the portal he used to get here. My mother was a real shameless woman. She always makes advances on Thanatos whenever she feels lonely and Hades isn't home. Yes he does occasionally leave the Underworld. The lack of sunlight doesn't do his complexion any good. Thanatos has to survive so many rape attempts my mother makes. Poor guy. But he does sacrifice himself occasionally to get me the information I need. Always taking one for the team that guy. Ria would kill me if she ever found out. But he was right, I needed to move and fast. I had spent over two hundred years planning this. Waiting for her to be born. Two hundred years understanding exactly what that prophecy meant. At this point, I was the only one that did. I was pulled out of my thoughts when my nose caught a whiff of her. Even with the lack of soap or shampoo she still looked and smelled like heaven. Probably one of the perks of being an immortal goddess. That and the fact that she's Aphrodite's kid. She had her mother's charm alright. Her bitchiness too. Let me tell you, Aphrodite is one absolute b***h. Completely vain. She has every right to be trust me, but she's just so annoying. But her kid was less annoying thank the gods. But she also had her father's bloodlust which was really hot. She just never was in a situation that required it to completely show its face. Ares had placed her on an island and had placed a barrier over it. Kind of gave the effects of the Bermuda triangle. I got through no problem. I'm the one who got a witch to put it there so that wasn't surprising. But anyone else who didn't have mine or Ares' permission would face a horrible death trying to get in. So far only three other people had said entry rights. I watched as she walked to a waterfall in the islands center. I took a step forward and broke a twig. Again. Shit. She turned around and scanned the area. I could here her rapid heart beat from where I was standing. I was really scaring her. Not surprising. I mean you would be scared if you felt like someone was following you as you walked through a weird ass forest. Thanatos was right. I did deserve my name. Watching her so scared was really making me smile. I fed off people's fear, got off on it. It was euphoric. "Peyton if you're trying to scare me cut it out!" She yelled. I stood silently watching her. She turned around and continued walking. When we got near the waterfall she turned suddenly catching me off guard. How the hell can she hear me? I stood behind a curtain of creepers and she stared right at me. Her bright blue eyes pinning me in place. Those f*****g eyes. Get a f*****g grip on yourself Jasper. "You're imagining things T. There is no one following you. There's only you and Peyton on this stupid island." That's what you think. We got to the waterfall and she slowly slipped out of her clothes. The polite thing to do at this point would be to walk away. Give the girl some privacy. I take pride in the fact that I'm a total gentleman. I believe it's not right to be all peeping tom on a woman. I regret, slightly, to say that I was not a gentleman that day. She stepped under the water and ran her hands through her hair. I stepped out of the shadows and leaned back on a tree by the water's edge. I never stayed and watched her all the times I came to check on her. I always left just as she made her way to the waterfall. Then I'd come back when she was asleep. Now that I thought about it, me leaving was a good idea. For my sake and hers. As I was about to leave she turned around and froze when her eyes landed on me. I smirked at her. Oops looks like my cover is blown. "You aren't an easy girl to find Thalia. But boy am I glad I did." She screamed then ducked behind the waterfall. I knew there was a small hidden cave behind it. I chuckled softly at the way her skin looked red with embarrassment. Lazily pushing myself off the tree I had been leaning on, I walked to where she was and found her already in her clothes. "Well that's disappointing." I muttered to myself. "Who the hell are you?" She asked picking up a price of drift wood and standing to her feet. "You think you can stop me with a piece of wood." I asked crossing my arms across my chest. "I will have you know that I took martial arts for nine years." She frowned gripping it tighter. Cute "And I will have you know that that still doesn't scare me." I took a step forward and she swung her weapon at my head. It made contact with my skull and broke. Her eyes widened as she dropped it and took a step back. I don't make mistakes. I made one that day. Ares' kids don't have a flight or fight response. They have a fight or murder one instead. It shows up whenever they feel threatened. At that point in time, I was a threat. And she was the one with a knife.
