Movie Night Prep

Thursday morning rolled around, Karyssa had made a list and schedule she needed for the next few days.

Today, she was going to pick up the food items from Joyce's store around 12pm and set up the room how she wanted it for the event and make sure the equipment was working properly.

She made it to the center around 9 am. She knew other people were showing up later, but she wanted to get the lay of the land before everyone showed up. She did a quick walk through, went and found the room that the decorations, then went to find the extra office Cat told Karyssa to use while she was in charge. When she found the office. The previous person who ran the center was making upgrades to the building. The windows had to be unlocked with a key in order to open, unless you wanted to bust open the window. Which karyssa thought was weird.

"Hello?" She heard a deep male voice. She felt a small ping in her heart. She hadn't talked to Liam since he asked her to get coffee with him. "The door was unlocked. If someone is here, please speak up."

"Yes, it's me, give me a second I'm coming." I shouted back. Karyssa heard footsteps walking towards her.

"Siren, is that you?" Liam questioned when he made it to the door.

"It's Karyssa." She corrected him. She felt as though if he used that name, he was flirting with her, and that wasn't fair to the girl he was with last week. Liam had a hurt look on his face.

"Anyway, SIREN..." He mocked. " I didn't know you were here. Where's Cat?" As he walked into the room.

"Cat had the baby and asked me to take over for her until she is ready to come back." She replied. She needed to get out of this room. She didn't understand why his close proximity affected her so much.

"Well, I'm happy the baby and Cat are doing okay. And I'm especially glad I'm going to get to spend more time with you." He said, giving Karyssa the cheesist smile.

"Yeah. Anyway let me show you the room where everything is at, it needs to be taken to the main room. And I need at least 2 guys to come with me at noon to Joyce's for a food pick up." She blankly told him.

"That can wait, Siren." He was standing right in front of her now. He moved a piece of hair out of her face. " I've been trying to call you all week, we need to talk about what happened a few weeks ago." His voice was low and sincere. Karyssa knew he had been trying to talk to her but they weren't dating or anything so he owed her no explanation and with what she had going on she didn't need or have time to get romantically involved right now.

"No, we don't. No explanation is needed." Karyssa slapped a smile on her face and took a few steps back from him.

"Siren, please." He begged. "I know I don't owe you and explanation but, I was to give you one anyway." Walking closer to Karyssa.

"Were all good promise." Patting his shoulder Walking around him. She needed to get out of this room and stay away from him. He followed her out of the room, and she led him to the room that needed unpacking.

" This is where you can get started." She pointed to the room.

"Rocky! Spruce! Moler!" Liam shouted, 3 rough looking cliché Biker men walked to the room.

"Yeah," the first guy said.

"All this stuff needs taken to the main room that you just come from. Make it quick." Liam said as the 3 men got to work.

Liam and Cat made their way back to the main room where 6 other guys were standing.

"This is Karyssa." Liam motioned to her. "Whatever order she gives you, you do and listen." He ordered again. They all just nodded.

"Okay, I need those tables set up and the floor swpet real quick," she pointed to the tables. "The 4 bigger ones need put along the wall next to the kitchen, the rest need to be set in 2's but please don't go passed the projector we have bean bag chairs and blankets we are setting up for the kids to watch the movies on if the want to." She smiled at the guys, and they started getting to work.

It was almost noon when Liam walked over to Karyssa, who had been working on getting the tables and chairs wiped down.

"Hey, you said you needed 2 guys to go with you to pick up stuff from Joyce's. It's about noon." He told her.

"Yeah, they can either ride with me or follow." She continued wiping down the table she was working on.

She got finished, grabbed her keys, and walked outside, where Liam was leaning on her car.

"Skunk, already left he's going to meet up there, I'm going to ride with you." He smiled at her.

She unlocked her car so he could go ahead to get in. They were on the road before Liam tried to say anything, Joyce's store was about 20 minutes from the center.

"It wasn't a date. She was my cousin. She normally drives her own car but wanted to ride on the bike." He started. "I know you don't want an explanation, but you stopped talking to me after you saw her. I saw the look in your eyes when you saw me with her. If you want to stop talking to me, that's fine, but it won't be because of a miscommunication."

"Liam...." She stopped talking. She didn't really know what to say. She thought she liked him, but she didn't want to get hurt again. The wall she built was still standing.

"Don't say anything yet." He signed. "Please just think about what I said."

The rest of the drive was quiet. They met Skunk at Joyce's, packed everything up in Karyssas' car, and headed back to the center.

Hours went by before they were finished for the day. Tomorrow was going to be a lot of decorating and getting the back to school supplies set up. Over the course of the day, she got to know the men she knows now as Rocky, Spruce, Moler, Skunk, AX, Road, Prech, Blues, and Tinker. They were the nicknames they go by, Karyssa was curious about the stories behind each name, but let it drop for now. Liam kept his distance for the rest of the day.

"Did you or Cat think about having a car show as well since you were showing the movie cars?" Ax spoke up. " We could probably get a few bikers willing to give the kids a ride around the parking lot. We have extra helmets and padding all different sizes. I don't care to take care of getting the cars together."

"Um, let me run it by Cat this evening, and I'll let you know, is tomorrow too late?" Karyssa asked back.

"How about I give you my number, and you can text me tonight and let me know what she says." Ax replied.

"Sounds good." They exchanged numbers and chatted a little more. Karyssa wanted all the information she could get before taking it to Cat.

She closed up for the night and went home. When she got home her and Cat had talked about everything that happened, including what Liam had said.

She texted Ax, letting him know Cat was all for it, but we would have to have the parents sign a waiver form before any kids got on a bike.

He replied that he would take care of the cars, bikes, and pads if she would be willing to take care of the waiver.

Karyssa thought it was a fair deal.

Friday

Liams POV

Everyone made it to the center around the same time. Ax handed a coffee to Karyssa. Liam felt jealous. He felt like it should be him who was bringing his Siren coffee, but he couldn't blame Ax. Karyssa was him type.

"Here you go, man." Ax handed Liam a coffee.

"What's going on with you and Karyssa?" Liam questioned Ax.

"Absolutely nothing, I know you're into her, I wouldn't overstep like that and definitely wouldn't do that to you, brother." Ax replied.

"What she tell you about the cars and bikes?" Liam asked, putting his jealousy aside.

"She said Cat told her it was a good idea and that if we wanted to do the bike thing, we needed the parents to sign a waiver. Why didn't you ask her? Instead of having me ask?" Liam knew why he wasn't ready to have Karyssa reject him.

The day went by and the center was decorated how Karyssa wanted, the watching area was set up, each table had backpacks on the chairs for the kids that had the basic school supplies in it and then there was 3 tables set up along the back wall the first was set up with elementary school supplies, the middle table had middle school supplies, and the last had high school supplies.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a minute." Karyssa had drawn Liam out of his thoughts.

"Yeah, what's up?" He smiled.

"Um.. I do 2ant to continue talking." She leaned forward, kissed him on the cheek, turned and walked to her car. Liam couldn't help but smile. His Siren was a complex creature, and he couldn't wait to get to know her more. He jumped on his bike and headed to the club house.

"Whats that smile about?" Ax, who was leaning against the bar, was the only one who noticed Liam walk into the building.

"Nothing." Liam replied back, pulling out his phone, reading the text he got.

Siren- I made it home. Thank you for all your help the last 2 days, and thank the guys for me?

Me- I just walked in the door. And I'll b3 more than happy to help you out anytime, Siren. What time would you like everyone there?

Siren- to help with the last minute stuff and get food going 3 ish, but the bikes don't need to be there till 530-6 ish I already told Ax about the bikes. It was a good idea.

Liam smiled to himself he knew it was a good idea he came up with it.

Me- sounds good. I will see your beautiful self tomorrow, Siren. I got some work I need to get done.

Siren- okay, I will talk to you later.

Liam got to his office door when he heard a voice behind him he knew instantly who it was.

"Hey, Prez, want some company?" A small hand clutched his bicep. He knew it was Sugar, one of the club girls that hung around, offering themselves for a room and food. Liam has never been one to accept an off from the girls, but that has never stopped Sugar from trying. He shrugged her hand off his shoulder.

"No thanks." Was all he said, walking into his office, closing the door in her face.

Hours went by before he glanced at the time, realizing it was 1130 he hoped Karyssa was still awake.

Me - Good night, beautiful. I hope you sleep well. If you were asleep and I woke you up, I'm sorry.

Siren - no worries, I just laid down. About to head bed. Goodnight Liam, I hope you sleep well too. I'll see you tomorrow.

Liam decided to head to be he couldn't wait to see his Siren tomorrow.
