“Baby girl, come and we’ll give you a ride,” Shane spoke close to my ear as he headed to his black XL Escalade. I often forget just how wealthy the McKinneys are.

“Brat, here, come sit while we drive you,” Oliver called out as he opened the door to his white XL Escalade. Seth was already in the driver’s seat and so was Oscar, both hoping I’d go with the other. This was going to get difficult fast, I thought to myself as I felt an arm lock in with mine. Olivia started to drag me off to her jeep, and I gladly followed. I knew I could always count on her.

“Sorry Romeos, this Juliet is getting a ride from her bestie, we’ll see you guys later.” Liv giggled as she hopped into the driver’s seat and sped off without a second look. “So, I know we didn’t get to have our annual get-together yesterday so how about we do it tonight?”

“Yes, I’d love that!” I exclaimed as we pulled into my driveway, as if on cue the guys pulled in behind. I stepped out and was quickly picked up by Shane, who wrapped his arms around my legs just under my ass. He quickly put me down.

“Whoa, Baby girl,” He said quickly, reaching for my long shirt and lifting it. His eyes grew wide as he stared at my ass. The others reached him, and I tried to push his hand away so I could cover back up.

“Holy s**t, beautiful. You’ve got an ass!” Oscar said loudly as his eyes narrowed at my backside. I quickly turned to try to get Shane to release his hold.

“Oh, are you guys just noticing her big dumper?” Liv asked, taking down her sunglasses and moving toward my front door. “Yes, I’ve been telling her for years she should flaunt it.” I sprinted toward my door, blushing. As I entered, I headed straight for the stairs to get to my sanctuary.

“Oh come on, Jules, it’s a great ass!” Olivia yelled up the stairs as she grabbed drinks from the fridge. “I wish I had one,” she mumbled to herself, climbing the staircase to my room.

“Brat,” Oliver started as he was the first to enter my room. “We still want that picnic with you.”

“Yes, true, here we’ll get everything ready, any place you want to go?” Seth asked as he sat on my bed next to me. I watched as they all poured into my room. I still had that overwhelming feeling. I somehow never wanted to part with these guys again. I felt the urge to kiss them, among other things. I was so confused, how did I go from being practically invisible to them showering me with love and affection? I felt the all-too-familiar sensation of anxiety creep up. I pulled my knees to my chest and wrapped my arms around my legs, as I put my head down. “Gorgeous, are you alright?” Seth asked, putting his hand on my shoulder. I felt the tears well up in my eyes as my glasses fogged. I couldn’t help it. I knew I was a mess, I knew I was a lot and I would be too overwhelming for them. I felt eight hands on me at once as I continued to cry.

“Oh no, move guys!” Liv bellowed, moving to my side, grabbing me, and rocking me back and forth. “You’re too much right now.” She snapped. “She has these episodes sometimes, you have to go slow, She’ll be okay, just give her a minute.” She stroked my hair as I continued to ball my eyes out, I knew what I must look like to them, a crying baby. They must surely be having second thoughts about me now. No one would want me, not really. I pulled myself together finally and looked up to see all four guys crying, sitting on my sofa.

“Oh Brat, we’re sorry, we didn’t know, we didn’t think. Forgive us, we just wanted to show you how much we love you.” Oliver exclaimed with tears rolling down his face.

“You… you love me?” I asked, wiping away the tears sliding down my face.

“We love you, Beautiful,” Oscar announced as he stood up. “We didn’t mean to make you overwhelmed.” I smiled hearing him say this, I felt the pang again in my chest, but this time it was much harder and deeper. I quickly grabbed my chest and straightened my legs out. I watched as each of the guys grabbed their chests.

“Liv!” I looked at her for answers. My father didn’t tell me things like this and she never made fun of me for not knowing.

“Jules, it’s okay, it’s part of linking,” She explained, looking at her brothers then at her cousins, and back to me. “Once you find your mate or mates, your body has ways of telling you that they are your fate. You have two weeks to choose what to do, you can mark each other and mate, or denounce.” She looked at me and moved my hair away from my glasses. “If you do nothing, the pain gets worse, it’s your body needing the other.”

“Are you ready for that picnic we promised you, gorgeous?” Seth inquired, getting up from the sofa and heading toward my bed. The closer he got, the more I felt the pull. It was the same way when he wasn’t near, it was the same with the others.

“I promised Liv we could have our party tonight. Could we do it here, and you’ll join us?” I asked, looking at him. He smiled and those famous McKinney dimples appeared, which made my heart race. He nodded his head and walked out my door, being followed by the others, leaving Liv and me alone. “I don’t know what I would do without you!” I protested, hugging her.

“Well, you know it’ll be my birthday in two days, so I expect you to help me.” She teased, nudging my shoulder. The guys came back into my room and we all enjoyed a wonderful evening, passing out in the bedroom. “Ugh, we have school,” Liv grumbled as she shook me awake. “I’m borrowing clothes, and going to shower,” She got up and woke up the guys before heading to my closet and off to my conjoined bathroom. I sat up in bed and watched the guys stretch and groan. How could they look this good all the time? I slowly got up and made my way to the closet, looking for an outfit, when I felt arms wrap around my waist. I inhaled the smell of mint and lavender, I looked in the mirror as Shane bent down to nuzzle his face in my neck and kiss it.

“Good morning baby girl!” Shane squeezed my hips, which made me jump. “Someone’s ticklish,” He giggled, walking out my door. I turned back to my closet as I felt another pair of arms wrap around my hips. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply coffee and coconut, I sighed with a smile on my face.

“Morning Brat!” Oliver leaned down and kissed my neck as I heard him take a deep breath. “Tease,” He said, walking out my door.

“Beautiful, I missed you!” Oscar groped my ass then kissed me on the cheek, lingering there, for it to be longer than a peck. I took a deep breath and smelled oranges and vanilla. I grinned as he let go to walk out.

“Gorgeous, we will see you in a minute, we keep extra clothes in the car,” Seth announced as he made his way over to me, kissing my cheek. I smelled lemon and sandalwood as he walked away. Their scents were much stronger than before. I looked in the mirror smiling. I felt a pang in my chest, I think I’m in love with them, I thought to myself.

“If I am wearing your clothes today, then I will be picking yours for you,” Olivia shouted as she walked back into the room wearing only a towel. She started going through my closet and picked out a baggy Wham! T-shirt and overall shorts for herself, and black tights with a light blue cropped shirt for me. As I finished dressing, the guys walked in and started whistling, closing me in a circle.

“Boys!” Liv snapped her fingers, “Your mate is sexy and scandalous, but keep it in your pants!” She handed me my crocheted ballerina-styled black slip-on shoes while she got behind me to braid my hair. This did not detour the guys as they all came around me, kissing my hands and shoulders. “Let’s go!” Olivia got up and put her hair in a messy bun, heading out the door as the guys waited for me to follow her.

We arrived at school and I immediately felt exposed. I have never worn anything like this since I gained weight. I started to blush and I tried to hide my face as I noticed people staring at me. I soon felt many hands on me, and I felt calmer.

“We’re here beautiful, you look stunning, and your ass if I do say so myself.” Oscar kissed his fingertips and then my cheek. I was then overwhelmed by kisses as we walked further into the hall. I noticed that if guys stared for too long, one of my mates would let out a possessive growl. I stopped when I heard the familiar clicking of heels walking my way. The guys could feel me getting tense.

“Baby girl, we’re here, and we will never let anyone hurt you, you stunning creature.” Shane turned to me and stroked my cheek, “We are in love with you, remember that!”

“I see she still has you under her spell.” Taila coughed as she looked at me peering from behind their backs. “Don’t worry, I’ll get a witch to undo what she did because I know you’re my partner.” She went to touch Oliver’s face but he slapped it away.

“Taila, it looks like you got your nose broken!” Oscar spoke up with a grin.

“Oh, no, I got a nose job.” She giggled and quickly put her hand over her purplish-blue nose. “You know, I always hated it, so I begged Daddy and he agreed finally.”

“We don’t care, keep Juliet’s name out of your mouth or we’ll have our cousin re-break your nose,” Seth spoke up as he grabbed my hand and kissed it. She turned on her heels and started sprinting as she saw Liv walking toward her. The guys took turns, like yesterday walking me to each class and waiting for me wherever I went. As it was time to leave, I was stopped by a guy from the football team. I looked at his leader-men's jacket and read the name Jordan. I smiled as he approached me, unsure as to why we had never spoken before. I was certain he didn’t even know my name.

“Hey, hey, Julie, right?” He asked, running his fingers through his shaggy dirty blonde hair.

“Juliet,” I corrected him, smiling, trying to be as polite as possible, not knowing what kind of trap this could be.

“Right, so I saw you today as in I saw you.” He paused, not making any sense. “You were with the McKinneys like all of them.” He stopped again. I nodded my head and then looked around. “So, are you going to the dance this weekend?” I was certainly confused. Was this a prank? I started to get nervous. I felt this huge arm around me and when I looked up I felt at ease.

“Yeah bud, she’s going with her fated ones, The McKinneys,” Oliver growled as he pulled me along heading toward the exit. “Brat, you don’t know what I would’ve done to that punk, he’s lucky I put my arm around you to stabilize myself. You are mine!” He turned my chin to look at him. As I stared into his bright green eyes I felt a pang in my chest and somehow I knew he did too. I closed my eyes and I felt his hands cup my face as he leaned down and kissed me. My first real kiss was warm and tingled, I had a sudden rush of emotion overwhelm me. I pulled back and watched as Oliver opened his eyes and mouthed the word ‘wow’. I smiled at him as he brushed the curls that had fallen from my braid, he placed his forehead on mine and grabbed my hands. Suddenly, we were interrupted by Shane as the doors flew open.

“I felt nervous, then I had an overwhelming feeling of love.” Shane walked over to us. I turned to him before he could say another word. I put my hands on his face, he leaned down and I kissed him. Much like the kiss with Oliver, it was warm and tingled, with another rush of emotions. As I pulled away, he was speechless. He put his hand over his chest and one on mine as if to say our hearts were beating together. Seth came around the corner and I could smell him. I jogged to him, grabbed his neck, and pulled him in for a kiss.

“I have never felt anything like that before,” Seth whispered to me as he gently stroked my cheek. Without missing a beat, I smelled Oscar coming from my locker and ran to him. He dropped everything as I jumped into his arms, kissing him.

“Oh my god, beautiful. I felt tingles.” He spun me around before setting me down and watching the other guys approach us. I couldn’t help but smile as I was being hugged by all four of them. We walked out of the school and I stood still unsure of where to go until I noticed Olivia waiting in her jeep. I kissed each guy again as I made my way to my best friend.

“Guys, I know it feels like it’ll kill you, but your moms, want to see you,” Liv screamed out as she dropped me off at home. I watched their faces fall as they backed out of my driveway and took off down the road.
