Dinner With Tyrone

1125 Words
Tyrone did come and pick Cleo up after school. Hailey had stalked to her and hissed, “Why is he here?” And drew Cleo’s attention to a bunch of senior girls checking Tyrone out. But they were all too scared to approach the handsome man out of fear of public rejection.   Seeing her, Tyrone straightened up and smiled waving Cleo over. “Tell Peyton I don’t know what time I’m going to be home.” Cleo admitted before going to him. Hailey watched her go green with envy.   Her boyfriend and Cleo’s ex came up behind her, “Who is that guy? Didn’t he drop her off this morning?” Hailey’s frown became worse as she glared at her boyfriend from the corner of her eye.   “Why are you tracking her comings and goings. She never made you c*m, remember?” Hailey bitched stalking from him. Jordan followed as he kept his eyes on Cleo being helped into a large truck.   Girls watched enviously as she was put in sweetly and then driven away. It bothered Jordan and Hailey watching the scene as others did too.   It was like overnight Cleo’s life became a movie and she was the best actress.   As she seemed more relax next to him this evening, Tyrone gently asked, “Tired this evening? I can take you home?” Cleo laughed warily, “Please and you keep me in suspense? Yeah right. I’m fine, just a little curious as to where we’re going.”  Tyrone chuckled, “Just to a nice place to eat where we can talk.” Cleo hummed as she whispered, “I don’t know, sounds like you’re taking me somewhere to murder me.” Looking at her surprised, Tyrone teased, “You seem hella calm for someone who’s on her way to her death. Shouldn’t you be fighting?”   Cleo met his eyes tiredly, “Maybe if I had anything to lose.”   That didn’t rub Tyrone the right way. He could something hurting in Cleo. And like the empathetic f**k he was, he wanted to make it all better. “I’d never hurt you, Cleo.” Cleo looked at Tyrone amused, “Ugh huh, sure. I’ve heard that before.”   Tyrone frowned severely, “Yeah well I don’t know what little boys you’ve been listening to, but I’m not one.” Looking over at him for a moment, Cleo could see he meant it. And it snagged in Cleo’s mind.   They pulled up to a fancy restaurant right by the water, Cleo wasn’t sure about it. Considering she was dressed in jeans and a hoodie, she looked at Tyrone, “Um, we’re a little too casual for this place don’t ya think?”   Tyrone laughed a little, “Oh baby, it’s not clothes this place cares about. It's money.” Cleo wanted to protest going in even more. Because she wasn’t flushed with cash and she was sure, they’d be booted out in a second.   Tyrone helped her out of the truck, putting his hand on the small of her back as he led her in.  Looking up, the hostesses eyes fell on Tyrone with excitement as she purred, “Good evening sir, a reservation?”    Scoffing Tyrone rolled his eyes, “No, go get Andre.” The bluntness made the hostess rear back in surprise. “O-oh okay.” Turning she scoffed as she stalked off, rolling her eyes Cleo whispered to Tyrone, “She’s so butthurt! Like, girl you not all that, calm your titties.”   Laughing, Tyrone and Cleo were in stitches when Andre came. Tall, handsome, and the perfect smile, the owner of the place looked at them confused, “Good evening, and what brings you here?” He directed to Tyrone.   Not only was Andre the owner of Willow, and also the best friend of Tyrone. Andre looked at Tyrone still chuckling, “Hey man, is the back table free?”   Andre nodded, “Of course, but first things first who is this lovely little lady?” Tyrone looked down at a giggling Cleo, “This is Cleo, Cleo my best friend Andre and the owner of this fine establishment.”   Cleo held out her hand, “It’s nice to meet you.” Andre smiled shaking her hand, “You too lovely,” Cleo took the time to observe, Andre waved a waitress and had Cleo seated at Tyrone’s favorite table.   Turning back to his friend when she was being seated, Andre beamed, “She seems great man.” Tyrone smiled, “She is definitely something.” Andre looked at his friend concerned, “You told her yet?”   Tyrone breathed out shakily, “That’s why we’re here. I don’t want to lie to her, or trick her.” Andre groaned, “Come on man, you had to bring her to my place though? She seem like she sweet, but the sweet ones are f*****g nuts sometimes.”   Laughing, he could see it. Tyrone believed it instantly, Cleo was a ball buster all right. And after seeing her go after her stepmother? Tyrone did not want to be under fire by her. Breathing out, Tyrone said seriously, “Trust man, I’ve seen her get angry. I don’t want to be on the receiving end of it. I’ll try to keep her calm though.”   Andre laughed mockingly as he started walking away, “You’d be the first man in history to keep a black woman calm in a situation like this. But good luck to you, my friend.”   Tyrone breathed out and went to join Cleo, she looked at him hesitant as she admitted, “Um...I ordered you a coke? I didn’t know what you like and I’m not old enough to order liquor.”   Nodding Tyrone told her gently, “Don’t worry about it beautiful. Coke works just fine for me.”   Their drinks were brought back and the waitress took the order before again disappearing. Tyrone looked across the table at Cleo playing with her straw and asked, “You’re not comfortable, are you?” Cleo met his eyes, “Very. But I want to know now. No more delays or distractions.  Why I am here Tyrone and what do you want from me?”
