Nadia's heart raced as she sat in the car. She turned to her side and saw one of her captors carrying her kit box, likely lifted from the seat to accommodate the three of them: himself, herself, and the guy who dragged her in. Her gaze was fixed on the figure carrying her kit box. "Be careful with that!" she called out, her voice filled with concern. She saw the connected wires beneath the steering; they were rigged to ignite the car. “What kind of criminals are these?” She wondered. “They've hotwired my car,” she thought to herself. As James started the car and began driving, the man carrying the kit gazed at Nadia; his eyes narrowed, and his focus shifted to the ID card dangling from Nadia's neck. The card had the name "Nadia Gilbert." The man's cheek widened, and at that moment, Nadia's eyes locked onto the tattoo on his hand, the same dove tattoo she had seen on the man who had dragged her into the car. Her gaze shifted to the driver, James, who had no such mark. Her gaze shifted back to the tattoo on the man beside her, and it conjured up memories of her past; the horror she had faced when she was just twelve years old. (Flashback) Nadia was just a child when her mother saw the envelope on the table. She could remember the blue seal on it. Her mother panicked, and fear gripped her. The moment her mother scanned the contents, she quickly grabbed her daughter, Nadia, and tried to flee with her. But it was too late. The door opened, and the mother hid her in the closet. The moment she heard footsteps approaching, she asked her not to make a sound, no matter what she heard. "Hide, Nadia, and don't make a sound," the mother whispered urgently, pushing her daughter into the closet. Nadia nodded in affirmation, despite being terrified. The mother’s whole body was shaking as the intruders demanded information about her husband, Nadia's father, who had been absent for months. Nadia held her breath, listening as her mother tried to stall them. But her words fell on deaf ears. In a shocking moment, one of the men coldly shot her mother. As Nadia watched through a small hole from the closest, a hole that allowed her to see the tattoo on his palm, his cruel words echoed in Nadia's mind: "I want him to know we were here." They departed, and the house fell silent once more. Nadia walked out of her hiding place. Tears streamed down her face as she saw her mother lying motionless on the floor. She called her father, but the phone rang unanswered. (Present) Nadia was yanked out of the car like a prisoner, her arms twisted behind her back. She stumbled, her feet scraping against the ground, as her captors dragged her towards the building. The doors slammed shut behind her, and she was shoved into a room filled with gunmen, some females. Just as fear was about to consume her, a young woman of her age walked in, smiling. "Nadia Valtor, we've finally found you; the boss will be amazed," she gloated. The young lady noticed her medical ID card and chuckled in laughter. “Gilbert? Come on, that's a lame name,” she dragged it out of her neck and threw it on the floor. “The run is over.” The young lady was Ava, the underboss and wife of the powerful Mafia boss. She had smooth and unblemished skin; her eyes were richly brown; her waist was tiny; and her curves were defined. Her raven hair was dark and full. She was a beautiful damsel chosen to be the bride of Rocci, the Mafia boss, when she was eighteen. There were sixty-five of them who were stolen as kids to be sold out to the Mafia boss in Italy. Rocci saw something in her and excluded her from that trade. She grew up under his protection, and he married her. Ava's beauty was not just a physical quality but a reflection of her strength, intelligence, and unwavering loyalty. The boss chose her for those qualities. She pulled out her phone and activated the camera as she leaned in close to Nadia, positioning herself for a selfie. "Smile, Nadia," she said as her voice dripped with sadistic pleasure. "Papa needs to see that you're now our guest of honor." The camera shutter clicked, capturing Nadia's terrified expression as Ava's smile grew wider. …………….. Bella overturned files and scattered papers in Nadia's office in search of a diary she had never seen. Her first instinct was to call the police, but she was too scared that it could endanger Nadia's life. She believed Nadia had a reason to lead her to her diary instead. Finally, her persistence paid off as she stumbled upon Nadia's diary, but just as she was about to open it, a voice broke the silence and interrupted her concentration. "Excuse me, have you seen Dr. Nadia?" a colleague asked, walking into the room with a curious expression. Bella's heart skipped a beat as she concealed the diary. "No, I haven't seen her," she replied, trying to sound not disturbed, but the office was scattered, and the colleague became suspicious. “What happened here?” the doctor asked as he moved towards Bella. Bella's mind raced as she stood frozen, the diary clutched in her hand. She wasn't prepared to raise an alarm, not yet. She got what she needed; the diary. All that was left to do was leave with the diary in her possession, but she was blocked by the doctor, who stood between her and the door. She knew she had to think fast to come up with a convincing excuse to leave the room without arousing suspicion. "Hey, I was just... um... looking for a particular book to borrow; I ended up scattering the whole place," she said, trying to sound casual, her hand tightening around the diary. “Please don't tell her you met her office in such a manner,” she said, and began tidying the table.
