HEART BROKEN - PART V

I was dressed in a knee length black dress with a X crossing in the back and black heels. The dinner was in fifteen minutes and I was putting on the finishing touches of my makeup when Mr. Nightingale walked into my line of view. I've seen him dressed in suits on many days, but seeing him tonight, just took my breath away. He stood next to me as he fixed his tie which he was having some trouble with. "May I?" I asked as he nodded granting me permission. How is it possible for one man to be even more handsome each time you lay your eyes on him. My hands shook as I tied his tie. For the time, he wouldn't take his eyes off me. "Are you single Ms. Storm?" He asked like he was asking about the weather, catching me off guard. "Sir?" I was shocked at his blunt question. "No sir I'm not." "Such a shame, a beautiful woman like you shouldn't be alone." The conversation was getting a bit personal and there was a way his voice dropped with such.... emotion. I was finished with his tie and my hands dropped to my side, not saying a word. "Thank you." He simply said and I nodded. "Shall we?" He kindled his arm for me to take. I hooked my arm with his and we left the room. Walking through the lobby, I can sense eyes on us. At first, it scared me to be so close to him and wonder what would people think about us but as he held my hand in his, it washed away all my worries. "Loosen up Ms. Storm." The driver was waiting with the doors opened for us as we exited the hotel and walked to the car. As we drove off to our destination, I can sense his eyes on me and I turned my head facing him. The look in his eyes was so dark but not of danger but lust. 'What the hell was going on?' His hand reached over and moved a stray hair from my cheek and I blushed at his gentle touch. Suddenly, his hand gripped my head and he pulled me into a kiss. I didn't return his kiss; I was shocked at what had happened. He eventually removed his hand from my face and fell back in his seat. "Please forgive me, I don't know what came over me." "It's okay." I replied with a shaky voice. What the hell just happened? Mr. Nightingale just kissed me. We kept playing a cat and mouse game sharing glances at each other and looking away until the car pulled up outside of a restaurant. The driver came out and opened the door and Mr. Nightingale stepped out and outstretched his arm for me to take which I gladly accepted. The doors for the restaurant swung open and we walked in hand in hand. A short, stubby man appeared in front of us with a broad smile. "Mr. Nightingale, welcome." The man, whose name I learnt was Mr. Knight, walked back in the restaurant and we followed as he entered a back room. The restaurant was beautiful and quite fancy. An expensive chandelier hang from the roof as the light cascaded throughout the room. As we each took a seat, a waiter rushed over to take our orders. Immediately Mr. Nightingale and Mr. Knight started talking about the sale of the restaurant. I couldn't understand why he was selling such an establishment but against all wishes, he wanted to retire with his wife and go back home so they can spend out the rest of their lives together. Him and his wife along with their son Keaton, ran the restaurant as a family but when Keaton got married, he wanted a more flexible work, so he can spend more time with his wife and daughter. His father didn't push him into something he didn't want, so they agreed to sell and Mr. Nightingale agreed to buy. He didn't want to destroy their family name so he told Mr. Night he would keep the name of the restaurant as to which Mr. Night was happy to hear. 'So, he does have a soft side after all.' I sat and listened as they finished up their business deal. While I was bored of my mind, it was still good to be doing something other than sitting in the office all day long. Once the business deal was concluded, both men shook hands and we left the restaurant. "How about a celebratory drink?" Mr. Nightingale asked as we headed back to the hotel. "Sounds good." He gave the driver a different address and we headed in a different direction. The car came to a stop and Mr. Nightingale opened the door and assisted me as well. He whispered something to the driver and he drove off leaving us alone. I didn't even realize he had removed a bottle of champagne from the car and two glasses. We approached a small secluded bench in a park and he placed the bottle along with the glasses on the bench as he removed his suit jacket and draped it over the back of the bench. I watched his every move as he rolled the sleeves of his shirt and popped the wine open. With the champagne overflowing at the top, he filled a glass and handed it to me then filled his and returned the bottle to the bench. The light from the moon, outlined his features and I was left speechless. We cheered to his new business and we both took a sip from our glasses. As he took a sip from his glass, his eyes never left mine. "Tell me something Ms. Storm, if I was to kiss you again would you refuse me the chance of tasting your lips?" He asked as he took to steps towards me. I didn't know what to say. I mean what can you say when a handsome man ask you such a question with a face void of any emotion. As if on cue the water in the fountain near by flew up in the air and I was left amazed as he pulled me to him and captured my lips with his, vigorously. This time I didn't hold back, I wrapped my hands around his neck and kissed him back with as much passion. He licked my bottom lip asking for entrance and I give him as my knees buckled under me. Never have a man kissed me like this, with such want and desire. He held on to me afraid of letting me go because he think I would run for the hills. My hands raked through his hair, as his mouth devoured mine and his hands roamed my body, leaving sparks of electricity. I don't know if I was imagining the kiss but I was loving it. His soft lips on mine and the taste of champagne on his tongue sent my hormones into a frenzy. I pulled him closer to me not allowing any air to pass through between us. A low growl escaped his lips. After a while we broke apart for air. My lips were now red and swollen after being ravished by him. I passed my index finger along my lips and I can still taste him on me. We stared at each other like there was no one or nothing else around us. Interrupting our moment, his phone started ringing. He ignored if for the first few rings but answered it eventually without looking at the caller ID. "Yes?" He answered still staring into my eyes. "Hello darling?" The person on the other end replied. "Hello mother." He answered as I tried to excuse myself from his conversation but he grabbed my hands pulling me back to his embrace. "Mother, I'll have to call you back, I'm kind of occupied at the moment." He said his goodbyes and pushed back the phone in his pants pocket. "Now, where were we?" He asked as he wrapped his hands around my waist.
