The sky was purple, blue, and black, with layers of stars that twinkled. There were bright lights on the baseball field, where chalk lines had just been drawn through the sand and grass.
Pinstripes were the uniforms for each team. The game was mostly calm, but most of the boys here were from the lower pack houses at home. I spent almost all of my time at Pack House 4. I thought these boys were nine or ten years old.
"Have you heard from your brother, Jamie, in a while?" I sat on the bleachers with Gaia to my right. I felt like a normal girl again, doing normal girl things. "He's changed quite a bit, huh?"
