Kyle slipped through the shadow paths, grateful he’d held himself together long enough to slip away from the palace. It helped that everyone was distracted by Amelia and Alex right now. His desire to kill again rose almost as high as his desire to meet up with Alyssa; almost equal pulses of lust and rage were running through him, overpowering him. Only the thought that he would meet up with Alyssa soon kept him moving and stopped him from falling to his knees.
