*** Nensi POV ***
BEEEEP BEEEP BEEEP.
The alarm clock was the most terrible sound ever.
I turned it off without looking and the clock smashed on the floor.
Damn, walking up at 5 am on the first day of proper holiday was a shame.
I sighted and slipped out of the bed, went to the bathroom and washed my face with cold water and brushed my hair, pinning them in a high, narrow bun.
I put on a white vest with a black t-shirt and black leggings, everything while cursing my bad fate.
My training shoes, a very fancy shocking pink model, were next to the door, I slipped in them and went down to the dinning room for a breakfast.
Just the time to pass the frame of the door and the delicate perfume I learned to know as Elisa's signature hit my nostrils.
"Ehi Nensi! Good morning! Ready for training? Are you excited?"
She jumped a little shifting the body weight from one foot to another.
Of course she seemed as fresh as a dewed flower at sunrise: black leggins like me, but hers got a shiny finish, perfect on skinny legs; her belly was exposed as she was wearing only a short black top, same fabric of the leggins, black training shoes, black half gloves and her hair were made into a high braid.
Barbie goes ninja, I thought.
"Uhm yes, Elisa, I am ready... More or less, I mean training is not my cup of tea, really."
I muttered.
Elisa sat at the breakfast table with a dish full of fruit, toasted bread and a yogurt; a cup of black coffee already in front of her.
I was ready to fill my stomach with eggs, bacon and hash browns but I suddenly realized it wouldn't be a good idea: all that food before a training session.
Duh at least for once I had the alertness of mind to realize it BEFORE eating and not after.
I sighted for the tenth time in thirty minutes and I put in my plate about the same things Elisa was eating.
"You say training is not your cup of tea but you're the Alpha only daughter, how will you be able to take your father's place when the time will come?"
She sipped her coffee as it was a fairly easy question.
I stared at her blankly: "Who? Me? An Alpha? I have never even thought about it.
Alpha is a male. At my best I could be a Luna but to tell you the truth I am not looking at this idea with excitement. I am... Well I am not that kind of girl. I want to do my best for the pack but not obligatorily in a leader position."
She was looking at me with... With what? Surprise? Interest? Curiosity?
"Can you really decide this on your own? Don't have your parents expectations on you? Don't you have to follow ...A path?"
I was looking at her very puzzled.
She was somehow right, often the Alphas had plans for their heirs, I never took a chance to think about it seriously because I was a female and not keen to be a warrior and, maybe, because my parents always gave me the chance to choose whatever I wanted to do in life, maybe because I was an only child.
Was I a spoiled rotten baby?
Was I my parents' letdown?
My hunger was gone, for heaven's sake every time I spoke to Elisa I felt a little bit more trashy than the time before.
I sensed no malice in her words or attitudes but she was probably the girl my parents would have deserved, not me.
I was nibbling a toast deep into my dark thoughts when she spoke again in a casual tone.
" So...Brian will be our teacher, right? Is he a good athlete?" she paused spooning her yogurt trying to seem just slightly interested
"Does he have a mate or a partner?"
I put down the bread " He is a skilled warrior and a good athlete, plus he is a terrible training teacher and by terrible I mean he will screw us up, believe me."
I took a pause, just to let her feel some suspence, a tiny badness from me.
"No, he is not mated yet, unless fighting can be considered a mate for how much time he spends on it..."
She was looking at me with a delighted expression on her face, like I was saying the most amazing things about him and not painting him as the most boring and training obsessed.
Bah, time to move to avoid an endless run as punishment for the delay.
"Elisa it's time to reach the training field".
She collected her plate and mine, plus the cups, put them in the dirty crockery basket and followed me out of the room and the pack house.
*** Brian POV ***
I was on the training field at half past five am .
The training was scheduled at six but I was long awake and slightly too much excited for what should be a standard basic level training.
I had Spock in my head purring playfully, teasing me about my excitement as it wasn't his too.
"Brian are your ready to play the training master? What if she beats you ass off? Will you be an extra soft teacher or an extra stern one?"
When I was shaving I almost cut my chin.
"Spock stop it, you are unbearable!!! I. Will. Be. Myself. And now shut up or I'll block you and you will not even catch a glimpse of her!"
I could sense Spock faking his death in a very dramatic way, wheezing and gasping but at least he stopped.
Everything was in place and at 5.45 I saw the first people arriving; they were regulars and started sparring on their own without I had to say anything.
Little by little people arrived and took place,
at 5.55 I saw two girls approaching and even from distance I could say they were Elisa and Nensi.
I could also sense a light vanilla smell but it could be my imagination.
Nensi had the face of someone on the death row, Elisa had got her beautiful smile on.
My eyes dropped on the pale, flat, Elisa's belly and on her perfectly shaped belly button.
It had a little silver ring with a white shiny gem inserted.
I suddenly imagined my tongue playing with it and I lost my focus on why I was where I was for a couple of seconds.
I cleared my throat while pinching my thigh so hard to make myself present.
"Ok everyone, this is the summer basic training course, our goals for this course is mastering the most common techniques of self defense: this, of course, includes a lot of physical training but fighting is not only a matter of corporal supremacy, it's a matter of strategy.
I will teach you how to fight depending on the place, the situation, the enemies you are facing. Let's heat up a little with some run."
I started moving on the path which went from the training field to the lake and set the pace of the run.
I could feel Spock tickling to exit and I swore to him I would let him out right after the training.
He said to me he was looking forward to run with Elisa's wolf but he needed to be patient.
A couple of weeks more and he would be satisfied.
