A sudden feeling jolted me awake from a deep slumber. I laid still as my heart pounded in my chest, causing me to open my eyes immediately. After a while of controlling the dizziness, I tried to make sense of my surroundings. The room was dim with the light coming from the faint glow of the lamplight on the bed stand.
I attempted to push back the haze of sleep, a sharp, and searing pain shot through my body like a lightning bolt, causing me to gasp in agony, and reminding me of the incident that happened earlier.
