Emma's POV
My heart skipped a beat as I read the message on my phone. The Nightshade Alpha's words sent a chill down my spine.
"Emma, you have 48 hours to return to the Nightshade pack. If you don't, we'll come for you and make you wish you had never left. You owe us for your betrayal."
I felt a wave of fear wash over me, but I refused to back down. I knew that returning to the Nightshade pack would mean surrendering to their cruelty and abuse. I had escaped once, and I wouldn't go back willingly.
I thought about showing the message to Bennett, but something held me back. I didn't want to burden him with more worry. Instead, I decided to respond to the Alpha's message, my fingers typing out a defiant reply
