Chapter 18: Expose The Trick Of The Monster

The said woman gently faced Ethan with a sweet and charming smile posted on her pink little lips. "Sir, are you talking to me?" She asked softly and modestly. The way she acted, stood up and spoke, you would not think there was something strange or wrong with the woman. She was the kind of woman who could not break dishes and looked fragile. 

"Don't act dumb and innocent in front of me. I won't buy it. I know you know clearly what I was saying here and I am referring to you." Ethan said.

The woman laughed softly. "Sir, you guys must be joking with me. How do I know what you are saying there? I don't understand even one."

"Sis Lily?" Celix called.

Because Celix knew the woman, everything was confirmed for Ethan. "Aren't you the corpse's girlfriend?"

"Yes, but we broke up a week ago." She replied. "But even so, his death still broke my heart." She pretended crying. "Sir, why do I feel you are suspecting me."

"No. I am not suspecting you--." Ethan paused as he stared at the woman fiercely and emphasised the next words, "I am publicly pointing you."

"Sir, I am already mourning his death. How could you still add salt to my wounds?" The woman looked at Celix, "Celix, do you believe with his nonsense?"

Celix scratched his head, "I don't know. Sis Lily, you tell me honestly, this has nothing to do with you. You didn't kill my brother right?" 

"Outrageous! I love him so much. How could I kill him?" She looked back at Ethan, "Don't let this man fool you. We don't know, he may be the one who did that."

"What are you saying there? Watch that mouth of yours if you don't know who you are pointing at." Elen snorted.

Ethan tapped Elen to shut up. "Don't waste your fake tears and grief. You are a terrible actor." Ethan approached the woman. "What a perfect and a meticulous cover up. You almost fool me."

"Sir, what are you saying? I don't understand." 

Ethan sauntered slowly around the woman, "You don't understand? Great, let me help you understand. If I guessed it right, you and this dead man only became a couple two days before your birthday. You met Celix on the same day you two got together with his brother." Ethan held the woman's chin and raised it up to look at him, "You used this fake beautiful mask to seduce him. After you got his trust and love, you asked him to go to a place where only the two of you were in there. Your birthday is just an alibi. It wasn't your real birthday. Your main goal that day is to devour him." Ethan snapped the woman's chin away, causing her to lurch a little. 

"Stop slandering me. You know nothing." The woman glared at Ethan. "Seduce? Devour? Ridiculous!" 

"Is what I said too difficult to understand? Fine, then let me continue narrating how you killed him. On the day of your so-called birthday, you served this man with unforgettable pleasure. You had s*x with him. When your boyfriend is about to reach the end of happiness, because he is so overwhelmed by the pleasure of s*x, he does not realize what you are planning. Even before he realized what was happening you had already stabbed him with your sharp nails. You dug out his heart and giblets and swallowed them. After you tear him apart, you spit a blood bead and put it on his stomach to cover up your crime. Because when your clan is exposed to the people, the authorities will definitely hold you accountable and chase you to the dead end. Through your blood bead, the victim is still looked alive after being killed. You monsters have the ability to heal wounds by licking it so there is no wound that can be seen at this man's body. After your birthday, you spread the news that you two broke up. That means, even if something bad happens to him, you have no responsibility because you two are already separated. Am I right, Miss Lily?"

"You are a big liar!"

Ethan just laughed in a taunting manner and turned around to face Celix, "Additionally, because you have that so-called unparalleled beauty, even though he is aware that his twin brother is your boyfriend, he can't help but fall in love with you. Knowing that he likes you, you marked him as your next prey in your mind. You took advantage of him and seduced him too. Tell me Celix, am I wrong?"

Celix was unable to answer. His mouth opened wide but no words came out. His tears flowed silently. 

"Don't believe him. All he says is a lie." The woman turned around, "Aren't you wondering why he is so familiar with monsters? Maybe he is one of them." 

Elen giggled bitterly as she cried. "So that is it? If Hunter didn't pass me by, next week, I will be like this corpse. Dead but moving and stinks." 

-"What are you saying Elen?" 

"My recent boyfriend promised me to take good care of me and my unborn baby. He is also handsome and sweet. Yesterday morning, we went on a date. We went on a picnic and as we got there, he asked me to have s*x with him. I like him so much because he is kind and caring but who would have thought---" Elen sobbed. "Who would have thought he was a monster and wanted to eat me and my baby. Gladly, Mr. Hunter came in the area and fought with him before we could have s*x. At first, I didn't believe Mr. Hunter and I even almost killed him. I stabbed him with a sharp stick on his side." Elen went on her knees, "Mr. Hunter, I am sorry."

"I told you not to say sorry to me. It's really fine. Get over with that matter." Ethan said and led Elen to stand. 

"You were clearly fooled yet you are siding him." The woman grumbled. She shouted around as the onlookers gossiped randomly. "Shut up!" 

"Since you are claiming I am lying then let's prove our sides. If I crash this, how will you feel?" Ethan said calmly as he opened the folded piece of torn cloth and the blood bead exposed. 

The woman's eyes widened and her fists clenched seeing the blood bead. 

"I'm sure you are familiar with what this is, aren't you Miss Lily?" Ethan's teased. 

Ethan and Lily stared at each other for a long time. No one spoke and moved. They felt for each other. The same thing happened to the spectators.

After a while, the woman suddenly acted as fast as the wind and kicked up Ethan's hand outstretched at her. The said blood bead flew high and the woman jumped to chase it. Ethan didn't let go of it either. He quickly jumped high and the two met on top and exchanged powerful blows. But they both blocked each other's blows with their arms until they slowly landed on the ground.

Simultaneously, as their feet touched the ground, the blood bead continued to fall and accidentally caught on Celix's shoulder. Celix screamed as he shook his body but it seemed to be glued with shoe glue and could not be removed. 

The woman ran around to grab the blood bead while slapping aside one of its hands on Celix' head. Even though his body was covered with wounds, Ethan did not let the woman succeed. With his quick and refined movements, he pulled Celix around going onto his back while releasing a strong long side kick towards the woman. 

The woman was kicked right in the ear. She fell head first and dragged backwards until she collided onto the wire fence of the clinic. The woman vomited blood after a loud colliding sound echoed. Ethan immediately took the woman's blood bead and showed her the intention to squash it.

Because there was a sun, the woman couldn't just change into a monster form but in her anger, her eyes turned red. Those who watched at them withdrew in fear of her. 

"Sis Lily, so you are really a monster!" Celix shouted angrily while running towards her to give her a kick but the woman got up quickly and while turning around she spurned Celix's waist and jumped high towards Elen. Celix's waist created a cracking sound as he crashed himself to the fence. 

The woman caught Elen. Her nails pointed on Elen's very throat.

"Give me my blood bead, otherwise it is your fault that this woman died." The woman's sticky saliva dripped. She even smelled Elen like as if she was sniffing a delicious dish. "It's really different when the food is pregnant, even the smell tastes so good." She said while releasing a laugh that was scary in the ear. 

Ethan's eyes widened lethally like a needle as he smiled scarily. "You are threatening me with that woman? Let me tell you something. The last one who threatened me has been turned into ash a very long time ago."

"Really? All right, let's try. Squeeze my blood bead, I'll just be seriously injured but if I stab or break this woman's throat, she'll definitely die right away. Why don't we bet?" The woman also smiled.

"Suit yourself." Ethan pouted and shrugged as he held out his hand holding the blood bead and turned away.

Elen closed her eyes and silently cried, thinking that Ethan just easily surrendered her. 

As he folded his fingers to squeeze the bead, Ethan's foot drew around as it reached for a living pebble on the ground and kicked it hard towards the monster. The stone flew so fast that even though everyone's eyes were focused watching them, they did not notice what exactly Ethan had just kicked from the ground as if he was playing a football championship game.

And just like that, the stone hit the very left eye of the woman, causing her to suddenly release Elen. Ethan immediately ran to Elen and wrapped his arms around Elen's waist while backing away from the monster.

The woman screamed in pain and anger. Blood sputtered out through her hands she covered with her eyes and as she removed her hands, the beautiful face became frightening. Her eyes popped out sideways and the rock was stuck inside.

The woman no longer cared if her true identity and appearance were revealed, she stuck out her tongue towards Ethan.

As the monster's tongue approached, the m******e in the Village once again played in Ethan's mind. He shook his head with tears rolled down on his cheeks when he saw the monster's tongue pierced through in Logan's chest. At the same time, Ethan's heart tingled in rage. 

"Mr. Hunter, are you alright?" Elen said, looking up at Ethan. 

Ethan didn't hear anything, only the sound of his grunting heart. So, he pushed Elen aside and confronted the monster's tongue. He pulled out the small knife earlier as his body bent over his back and slid forward, Ethan thrust the knife horizontally with its sharpness facing against the charging tongue. The monster did not expect Ethan to move faster than her and in her one wrong attack, Ethan trailed the knife forward and sliced her tongue in two from the very top until he reached the mouth of the monster.

Ethan cut off the woman's tongue completely and slit her throat straight away. Because the knife was too small, he was unable to completely cut the monster's throat. 

"Brother, catch!" Jotun suddenly ran around, holding something in his hands and tossing it towards Ethan. Ethan already guessed what it was and quickly seized it. While the monster's endlessly screaming in pain, Ethan threw the garlic cloves straight into the monster's mouth. 

At first the woman seemed to choke and even tried to spit out the garlic gloves but she failed until she gradually blushed and blazed in fire and disintegrated into ashes. 

Ethan ran to Jotun and hugged him. "Didn't I tell you to pretend you don't know me? Why aren't you listening and still interfering? Come here, let me see if you're okay."

Jotun looked at Ethan seriously, "Brother, I am sorry. I shouldn't have interfered but I could tell you are already exhausted and getting weak so---" 

"All right! As long as you are fine. Where is Uncle Fabian? Why is he nog with you?" Ethan looked around to look for Uncle Fabian but he was unable to find him even just his shadow. 

"I don't know what happened to him but he just ran off crying."

"What? Come on let's go home and check on him."

Ethan took a few steps when Celix shouted at them, "Mr. Hunter, please wait!"

Ethan tilted his head as they turned around, "What? Do you need something?"

Celix was still wincing in pain and was breathing heavily. "What did you throw to the monster before she got burned?"

"Garlic cloves." Jotun's boastfully answered. Ethan glared at him so the boy bowed his head. 

- "Garlic cloves? So, garlic can kill a monster? If that's the case, I don't have to be afraid of them anymore."

-"Don't be too excited. Didn't you see how fast, strong, and fierce they are?" 

-"He is right. Don't be too happy early."

The random conversation of the people around.

"Is that all you want to say?" Ethan asked Celix again.

"I--"

"Forget it! I already know what you wanted to ask." Ethan waved his fingers on him, "Come over here!"

Celix immediately approached Ethan and the latter whispered in Celix's ear. He then tapped the young man's arm after. "Burn the body of your brother." 

"Yes. Thank you!" The joy drew on Celix's face as he bowed to him and turned away as well.
