Although Megan missed having Barney with them, she had to admit that they could accomplish much more without having to worry about what the puppy was going to get into next. They worked steady for hours, stopping to drink bottled water, swat mosquitoes and reapply sunscreen. Filling basket after basket, and then moving them to the holding area to be emptied, they barely glanced at the items deemed worthy of salvaging. The women knew they were working against the clock and Mother Nature. Another bout of heavy rain could ruin beyond repair many of the photographs they had yet to find.
