Chapter 17
BY NOW A FEW MONTHS had gone by since my visit to the Good Word shelter. After receiving the disturbing stream of messages, I decided to pull back from my investigation. I had enough material to pick things back up if I wanted (or needed) to but I felt giving myself some space was a good idea. I thought maybe examining what I already had would uncover additional details lost in the chaos. The truth was, I was scared.
This did not mean I stopped thinking about everything up to this point. In the months that passed I used the time to sort through all the interviews I had conducted, however I made sure to do so in private and after hours.
