XX: When did you come back to the states?
E.V: It wasn’t too long after Pompilo left, and I got my robes.
XX: So he did leave Juarez? Correct?
E.V: Yes, after he gave me my robes, he had business elsewhere. Eventually I received a message from him.
XX: How long had it been?
E.V: (he thinks) About six months.
XX: What did he say?
E.V: He told me of some help needed in New Mexico, on a reservation near Gallup.
XX: Was this, an assignment?
E.V: A mission. This would be my first. I packed up and headed into El Paso. I would not return to Mexico for quite some time. My training there had finished and it was time to go where I was needed.
