Calle Pitahaya
Our day with the Judicial Police took an unexpected turn as we entered Calle Pitahaya, a rougher part of the city. Miguel had set up a ride along for us to tour this section of Juarez rumored to be a launch point for narcotics into the U.S. We were able to tag along because of Miguel’s brother, who as I understand is a high-ranking officer. It was clear to us that once heading out this wasn’t just a tour, but a mission. We were alarmed at the amount of firearms with us. Whatever the reason, it was a big deal and they took every precaution. Michael (cameraman) was sternly told what he could and could not film however, we were told to film their intended target, a man named “Predicador” die in front of us from they’re gunfire.
