CHAPTER 88 Jacques reached across the desk in his study and handed a paper to Guy Barbier. It was midmorning. Emilie had left to open her store and they were alone. “Leaving Tournai at dawn by boat,” Barbier read. “When did you get this?” “Last night.” Barbier glanced at his watch. “They must be taking the boat across the border into France, as far south as they can get.
