(Gabriella POV)
After departing the Pixies, Greyson and I were still in shock about Jordan's wings. Luckily, they were easy to conceal with a jacket or sweater otherwise keeping her try identity a secret would be near impossible. We drove through the wetland and finally the road ceased. Faerie was scattered about chatting and giggling amongst themselves. We exited the car and I was exploring their property when Greyson called attention to the tress. I looked up into the trees above us and was taken back by the picture before me. It was as if they had built cabins in the tree tops. Vines and flowers ascended the walls of the structures and swaying bridges adjoined the trees. Trees that were larger than even the redwoods. Their homes seemed to evolve out of the bark they were so perfectly built. The largest tree in the middle had a tremendous home built into the side of it. It had to be at least 10 stories high and was even more lovely than the others. I observed as the faeries rode up an elevator rigged up to a pull system wondering why they didn't just use their wings to fly up. "They aren't permitted to fly up there due to the bridges. Things are kept methodical and every ordinance has a specific reason.” Grayson clarified as he closed the back door after retrieving Jordan. "We're going up there?” I: questioned thinking that I must be crazy for coming here. "Yes. You will be fine. Trust me. These homes and walkways are built even better than ours.” He reassured me. 'Besides, I would never permit you or Jordan to come to any harm.” He smiled at me and quickly kissed my cheek. "Well, Jordan would just fly away. I don't have wings.” I joked and Greyson chuckled as he positioned Jordan into her pouch he had strapped to his chest. Grayson took my hand and led me to the elevator where a male and female guard stood on each side of it. They both were equally attractive. They had rosy cheeks and pointed noses and ears. Their hair was platinum and long with braids scattered throughout. They wore silk green pants and a matching silk vest with a silver chest guard to match their arm and leg guards. They held a spear in their hand and smiled as we approached them. "You are expected. Please board and I will show you the way.” The female guard advised us. We followed her onto the elevator and she closed the gate once we were all situated. She tugged a string that hung from the top and moments later the elevator was lifted into the air. "My name is Agni and I am a Fae Warrior.” The woman introduced herself. "It's nice to meet you Agni. We are.” I started. "We all know who you are. “she chuckled cutting in. The ground grew further and further away. When we finally halted I grew unsteady looking below us. Those who remained on the ground appeared to be the size of ants. "Don't look,” Grayson warned. "Look at me not down there,” he instructed as he took my hand, and I followed him out onto a wooden pathway that was built on the side of the tree. There were no rails on the other side, nothing to keep you from falling. I held Greyson’s hand tightly and then put my hand on a tree with the other hand. I looked street ahead at Greyson, staring at his back. I could hear Agni talking up a storm but couldn't pay attention to the sick feeling in my stomach. Eventually, we came to a bridge that was attached to the tree beside us where the big house was built. I followed Greyson onto it and grasped the sides as the bridge wobbled beneath my feet. I concentrated on putting one foot in front of the other and before I knew it we had made it to the. another side. I gazed up at the enormous palace in front of us. That's exactly what it was. A palace was created on the side of a f*****g tree. I know, I didn't believe it either and I was looking right at the f*****g thing. I was dumbfounded. "Amazing isn't it?” Agni asked and I simply nodded my head yes. Grayson yanking on my hand snapped me out of it and we headed inside.
The guards standing at the doors of the palace grinned and bowed to us as we went through the gigantic circular door. The inside was larger than the outside. It seemed as if the tree opened up and they had built back into it. The whole Fae species could fit into this one palace. Everything was colorful and vibrant. Tapestries of various colors hung in the foyer containing a painting of all King and Queens of the Fire Fae since the beginning of time. There were large circular staircases that led to a landing on the 2nd floor. After that, I didn't see any more stairs which led me to believe there was another elevator. All the furniture appeared to be hand built and made out of wood, down to the chandeliers and candelabra. "The entire palace runs off of solar power,” Agni informed us. "We do not believe in pollution or using the earth for our pleasures.” She continued. "Our water is either rain or spring water. Don't worry we sterilize it. And we grow our fruits and vegetables. We don't eat meat.” She looked back at us and we simply smile in return. Just this way please.”
She showed us through a door that led down a long hallway. Candlelight lit the way from the sconces spread throughout. At the of the hallway were 2 doors on either side of us and one doo directly in front of us. Agni opened the door in front of us and we followed her through. "Presenting Mr. And Mrs. Grayson and Gabriella Brier. “ Agni announced to us. We entered the room and found 7 faeries awaiting us. A King and queen for each element, fire, water, and earth. Air sat by himself because he had yet to find his queen, which was odd for a fairy his age but it happens. Each couple wore colors that resembled their elements. Fire wore red, orange, and yellow. Earth wore green brown and burnt orange. Water wore blue white and green. Lastly, the King of air wore blue, white, and light blue. Although he could wear any color if he wanted as air couldn't be seen.
Grayson and I made our way to the 2 empty chairs at the large oval table. "Welcome to our kingdom.” The Fire Queen Ember smiled at us. "Thank you for having us,” I answered. "Let's start with introductions shall we. “she smiled as she stood from the table. The fire queen was breathtaking. She had bright red hair and eyebrows, intense big blue eyes and she had painted her perfectly full lips a light blue. She wore a dress that flowed down her body with a sweetheart neckline. All their noses were pointed as well as their ears, and they had rosy cheeks, but they all looked different in ways as well. From their hair color, and eye color to their clothing and stature. "This is My mate King of Fire Azar.” she motioned toward the man seated beside her. His hair was more of an Orange and freckles were scattered about his cheeks and nose. They were both tall, and slender. "May I introduce to you King and Queen of the Water Fae Delta and Thea.” She motioned toward their man and woman seated to our right. The water king and queen were tall and muscular. The queen had thick long light blue hair and was adorned with seashells. Her dress was dark and light blue with a mermaid shape. Her eyes were bright green. The King had Dark Green hair that was shaved close to his head. He had baby blue eyes and wore a light green best with dark green vinyl pants. "This is King Aeolus. King of Air Fae. " she motioned toward the man across from us. He had long platinum hair and white eyes. He was tall and slightly athletic. He wore a flowing white shirt and gray leather pants. He bowed his head to us and we bowed to him as well. "And Lastly, but certainly not least King Tor and Queen Thea. She motioned to the man and woman to our left. They were both short and full-figured. They had chubby cheeks and brilliant smiles. The queen had radiant yellow hair and brown eyes. The king's eyes were opaque green and his hair brown. They were opposites of each other.
"I am Gabriella Brier. I am a werewolf, which is, a fae, and vampire hybrid though I don't have any traits or gifts so I am only a hybrid, not a Gemini. My daughter Jordan does. She is a Gemini and today we discovered her wings. " I took off Jordan’s jackets and they all gasped. "How precious.” Queen Thea gushed. "She is beautiful Gabriella.” Queen Mire smiled brightly. "How long have you known she was? Gemini? “King Aeolus asked. "We only found out a couple of days ago. We knew she had werewolf and which genes but not the others. Gabrielle's mother has no memory before her 18th birthday. We suspect it's her past that holds the mysteries to their genealogy .” Grayson examined. 'And you have come to ask us to merge with you to overthrow The Council?“ King Azar asked. "Yes, your majesty we would like you to join our Alliance. The vampires, wolves, and witches have agreed. We visit the elves tomorrow.” Grayson informed him. "If the elves agree my wife and I will join you.” King Tor advised us. The earth fae was tight with the Elves so it was of no shock that he would only join if they did.” The air Fae shall join you.” Aeolus stood and declared. "Thank you, your majesty. Without this Alliance, the Council will take control more than they have now and rule our entire lives. " Grayson told them all. "We shall join you.” Queen Ember smiled. "And us as well.” Queen Mira announced. This was huge. The fae had some of the best archery warriors in the world. None could stand against them. Now we were off to the land of the elves. This was going to be a difficult one. Elves remained out of war and out of other species' affairs. They never got involved.
