Chapter 5 

IRIS POV

“IRIS WHAT THE f**k? HOW DID YOU DO THAT?” Diane shouts at me as I shut the car boot. 

When I saw my mate was preoccupied I used my inhuman speed to quickly pack up all our stuff. I picked everything up including the keyboard and ran to the car all on my own. I was so worked up, because of my mate. I totally forgot that normal girls with my build couldn’t possibly carry all of this on their own. 

“Adrenaline I guess? I really needed to get out of there!” I say and Diane folds her arms and raises her eyebrow suspiciously. I look over her shoulder and see the security guard who helped me before was gawking at us in confusion. I quickly opened the passenger door. Before I can get in Diane pulls me back and smacks it, closing it again. 

“What?” I say trying to act normal and not like I was freaking out on the inside. 

“The nightshade club, remember! It’s still your birthday!” She says and glares at me playfully, but with a hit of concern as her eyes flicker between mine.

“I think I just want to go to sleep!” I try to sound tired, but my best friend was not having any of it.

She starts dragging me down the sidewalk. I knew trying to fight her would only waste time and my mate would find us immediately. We’re about to walk into the club, pulsing with music and blue lights when I sense him. I look over my shoulder and see my mate walking out of the gallery with another pack member on his heels. The same one as before. My mate scans the street and before his eyes land on us I grab Diane and dart into the club. I use my Alpha command and ask the bouncer if we could get free entrance. I force the thought into his mind. He lets us in immediately and I hear people objecting in the line we just cut. He grins at us and I see Diane is shocked as she takes her stamp on her wrist. 

Diane looks at me as a song called twenty-one starts to play too loudly for my taste. I couldn't hear a thing.

“See I told you it was meant to be!” Diane says as we step into the club. There are exotic dancers on the tables that surround the dance floor. The lights play in motion on the dance floor and I knew we had to get into that wave of people immediately to hide from my mate. Diane grabs two shots from a waiter's tray and winks at him. The waiter just grins and walks away not once objecting. Diane would be totally doing him tonight with that look in her eye. She hands me a shot and for the first time, I don’t object and grab it. I needed to get something to help with my nerves. Diane gives me an even wider grin, “What’s gotten into you?” 

I quickly down the shot and grab another one from a waiter walking by. I look at him with my Alpha command and he quickly walks away. I was honestly not a good flirt. 

Diane’s mouth falls open as I down the second one without pulling a face. “I’M TWENTY-ONE b***h!” I shout as I wipe my mouth.

 I smile at her trying to act like I was enjoying myself and she jumps up and down, her eyes filling with joy. She has never seen me like this and she was out of her mind excited. “FINALLY!” she shouts and downs her drink. I grab her hand and we run to the dance floor. As we start to dance her waiter guy brings us two blue drinks and shouts, “I’m sticking you ladies tonight!” Diane kisses him on the cheek and I just say thanks. She raises her brows at me and gives our waiter a little wave. I roll my eyes, making her laugh as he walks away holding his heart. We down our delicious drinks and begin to sway our hips singing with the lyrics as loud as we can.

Diane takes out her phone and quickly makes an i********: video of us dancing. Her phone suddenly falls out of her hand and her eyes widen when she sees something behind me as she stands up straight again. 

“Your guy is here!” she shouts at me and quickly picks up her phone. Diane’s whole pose gets a little taunt.

 I feel the hairs start to stand up on my neck when I feel the presence of my mate. Diane must have thought I knew him, because of the way we were staring at each other at the gallery. I quickly peek over my shoulder and see him and his friend scanning the room. I knew he wouldn’t stop until he found me. There was no use trying to run.

“Ignore him!” I shout back deliriously and give her a devilish smile, but she’s frowning. I grab her hand and start to dance. I’m grateful that she just goes with it. 

I was glad my back was turned so I couldn’t watch as he finally found me. Suddenly Diane growls as she looks behind me. I gawk at her. 

WAIT, WHAT? Did my best friend just growl? 

I realize he must be standing right behind me. I need to act like a drunk girl that just wants to hook up, I tell myself. I don’t think and just take a step back and push my body against his. I gasp as tingles run across my skin where we touch. He’s rigid for a moment and then I don't even hear the music anymore. I only hear his breathing, his heartbeat and then he wraps his hands around my hips possessively and suddenly the music is louder than ever. I can’t stop the gasp that escapes my lips as I finally sense his aura. He’s an Alpha. 

His hands push my hips harder against him and I feel his need for me. Calla is purring in the back of my mind, but some part of her is also fighting it. I started fighting her for control because she felt confused and this made the whole situation even worse. All I knew for certain is that she wanted him now. 

He starts to move our hips to the beat of the music and the lights start to flicker. I put my hands on his entwining our fingers slowly. It felt so right. We move together as one and I feel his delicious breath against my neck. It felt like my whole body was on fire. 

He brushes my straight black hair across my right shoulder. Exposing the left side of my neck. The spot where a female wolf gets marked. I throw my hands in the air and wrap them around his neck. I knew he wanted to mark me then, but I couldn’t let him. I had to think. He’s a stranger. How can I possibly let him mark me? I didn’t trust him yet. I knew I couldn’t even let him kiss me there or I’ll be a goner and let him take me right here. I run my fingers in his black thick hair and grip it tightly as I whisper, 

“Not so fast mate.” 

WHY DID I JUST SAY, MATE?!

His breath catches and he suddenly stops moving. I finally look at him over my shoulder. His eyes are black with desire, but he’s confused. 

He lets me go as he searches my eyes. He takes a step back and I almost stumble. 

“What and who are you?” he whispers in a way no human would be able to hear over this music, but a wolf would. I try to act dumb, “Excuse me?” I shout and turn around acting like I didn’t hear him. 

He closes his eyes for a moment and I know he is trying to control his wolf from taking over. 

“You heard me! Stop acting like a human!” he growls and I feel my pulse quicken. I needed control. 

I take a step towards him and run my hands up his arms. I feel them instantly start to cover with goosebumps. Some part of me was grateful that I also had this effect on him. His eyes spring open as I brush my body against his.

“You know who I am Alpha..” I whisper without thinking and my eyes flicker to his lips. I see he is fighting for dominance with his wolf as his eyes flicker with emotions. “I want both of you…” I begin to say but, he suddenly interrupts me by brushing his lips softly against mine. Slowly in a way that everything disappears around us. Everything slows down. I can only hear our heartbeats. I feel unbearable heat run over my skin in total uncontrollable hunger. He pulls away and gives me a pained expression, both of us breathing hard trying to fight the desire building in our veins. He starts to open his mouth to say something, but I stop him by crushing my lips hard against his. I wanted more. I needed more.
