IRIS POV
As we disappear in the trees. Calla nibbles Oades’s ear. She missed Eric’s wolf a lot. We start to race each other and I can’t help, but feel every cell in my body move in union. I remember how we used to run like this together in Scotland and feel my heart fill with bliss. I had my best friend back. Oades nibble’s one of Calla’s ears back playfully. I don’t know how long we had been running, but it felt so addictive the feel and idea that we were back in Scotland. Believing the slaughter never happened.
“I think we should stop here, we are too close to the border.” Eric tells me in mind speak and I jump in anticipation.
