"But why?" Lilly asked, as if there was a reason.
It was Friday. We were examining the Tapestry of Destiny. We had made the call to Winston that morning, and the meeting for the exchange had been arranged. The key to the Piero Gates, for two hundred thousand dollars. It was a bargain for Winston.
The exchange would take place at an attractive outdoor cafe in downtown Decatur. Lilly and I had already scouted the physical location, got a handle on the place thread.
