Don't Waste this Father's Time!

“That’s true since we’ve always been holed up in our secluded places cultivating diligently, only engaging in some lay life contest once in a while” Aeries refuted almost immediately with a frown, since you want to play this game of words, I’ll follow you till the end. “You!... En, it’s true that a child that doesn’t earn his own fish wouldn’t know how hard it is to get one. You shouldn’t speak randomly to anyone unless you stand on the tallest mountain, less anyone with higher heights shuns you.” The Hall guard angrily stated with spittle flying randomly…. How wouldn’t he know what Aeries meant, first he said he had been holed up cultivating, indirectly stating that he had higher potential than yours truthful here, and secondly he spoke deceitful words about the contest, directly stating that the children all hyped up for it were all foolish and the person who organized it…. Well, even more. “Tell me the truth boy; didn’t you come here to get some costly armor to defend yourself in the upcoming fight? Seeing as you came sneaking like this I can directly affirm my guess.” The Guard put his arms on his waist in a show of victory, feeling cool for defeating the honored son of heaven in a war of words, who knows, now it may be words…… later it might be swords…. He He He, like the sound of that “Oi, stop poke nosing in my affairs, hell how did you even know so much about me, am I that popular?” The words Aeries said woke the guard from his daydreaming. He even got angrier when Aeries muttered, “With all I did to conceal myself, yet people still make findings of me, this…. Sigh, the troubles of the handsome” “What nonsense are you spurting like that, please don’t waste this Father’s time, here, take your identity card and go inside already…. I hope you don’t lose early Young noble, I’ve staked high on you” Leaving those words behind, the Guard pushed Aeries to the entrance himself, lest the blabbermouth of this Young noble kill him. Humph, we’ll see how the contest goes for you. Aeries sighed at the nonsense and somewhat childish behavior of the Guard, because the Imperial Trading Hall was vast and large and also found in different parts of all the various countries under the judistruc of the Blue Wing Empire, the empire’s Imperial House found it to be too much of a pain to constantly deploy troop for the well being of the Hall, thus providing for their feeding and even taking care of their family members, if the troops are to move to the Countries entirely, and if they would base there, then there would have to be a constant reshuffling of troops to take over, because which person wouldn’t want to reach his family once in a while…. Thus requiring transport fare and other tiresome work that would just drain the Imperial ‘Hard earned’ money. So instead they found a better idea, why not make the countries bring their men to guard the places themselves and only deploy their strong powerhouses to secretly monitor things. This would help them cut their spending to a large amount and also make them look caring in the eyes of the citizens living the countries as they would think the Imperial house is impartial enough to leave openings and opportunities for the various Kingdoms to benefit, thus killing two birds with one stone. It was only the tear-filled Royal houses of these countries that would know how much they spend yearly because of the infrequent demands of the Imperial Capital…. Causing them to grit their teeth and exploit all they can from both opportunities they could find from the imperial funding, noble houses, and even commoners; to try their best and salvage the situation. Naturally, the guard from before should be hired from the King's special forces and brought here as only praising would escape his lips in respect for the King, and yet he could formulate blatant lies against the Krieger, even going ahead to taunt a 13-year-old kid. “Can I get my permit card then?” Aeries begrudgingly asked the infuriated guard, “Here you go, He He He. Little noble, I’ll be watching you fight bravely in the upcoming contest” After given Aeries his card, the guard leaned forward and whispered to him. Aeries took his card like nothing happened, still, with smiles—he walked somewhat swaggers to the entrance of the large hall that looked fof “Young noble! Young Noble Aeries!” A voice called frantically from behind, causing him to pause and look over, much to his horror. In front of his view now was a young man of 16 years old – the third child of the house of Manklem— Frederick Manklem. It wouldn’t matter to Aeries if he continues lashing out at the guard or showing off his slick pants wayward attitude to everyone, but hell, he definitely could not stand this guy, of in fact everyone in the circle of friends. Although Frederick was 3 years his senior, he didn’t behave like one at all! He and some other few were the main reason the former Aeries turned out to be that way, an unrepentant wayward child. Aeries turned swiftly around – after making sure he faked looking around in confusion as at who called his name (the place was crowded after all) – and moved briskly into the hall, he didn’t want the new him to associate himself with those stinky wretches. The light coming from the hall blinded him momentarily, and when he got over it, the grandeur got him stumped for some seconds, although some large cities back on earth might have spars as big as this, he never in his life got to travel that far for those seemingly unbelievable dreams -- and even at that – the huiopm decorating the interior was thrice as much as the exterior. Gold Flakes were used to plating the ground as the floor tiles, this was gotten from the renowned Gold Vein Trees. These trees took almost 200 years to grow to maturity and when they do, they become one of the most priced commodities in the trading market, as nobles and rich families all rushed for the plated sun-dried shaped parts for flooring of their houses and even as building materials. The tree… as the name implied had the luster of gold and shone brightly even in the dark, giving out a bright sunny color. The hall was made up of four floors, the first being the trading floor, this floor was the largest -- as the hall was built conically – and also the bustiest as everyone that had access to the hall could get everything they here. It was further subdivided into the receptionist part where all requests and Orders can come in, and the other part was the Open Trade Center….. Here anyone can set up a stall, after attesting to the legitimacy of the goods and paying a small ‘fee’ to the Hall. In fact, most people who come to buy things only go through this part, if they don’t see what they are looking for, which seldom happens, they move to the receptionist zone to make their request or order goods already brought forth by the main hall traders. Only wealthy merchants and rich nobles would do this since most of the common folk would definitely see whatever they were looking for on the last floor and also the prices set by the Trade hall were too much for anyone without a wealthy background. Aeries moved straight to the receptionist hall following a long winding corridor. To him could catch his attention in the main trading center. Skills? He had to one too many of them and they were all High ranked skills which was only secretly passed on to the crowned Heirs of Influential families. Precious resources for cultivation? He had acquired so many in his advent in the Red Blood Forest… Even the pure energy found in the core was still hidden privately in his costly mid-ranked space ring… ‘Sometimes pillaging can be the euphoria that makes men. Look at me getting all jittery thinking of another adventure deeper into that damnable hell farm.’ “Excuse me, I need to talk to your superior,” He said to the receptionist when he got to that area. “Let me rephrase that, I need to speak to someone who buys precious antique from adventurers” He saw the Receptionist looking at him foolishly and hence changed his words. Little did he knew that it further even enraged the menopausic woman.
