Burying the hatchet

Amidst The Fool's crisis, Rogue appeared right before her with two arms holding his hammer in a protective gesture, The Giant hammer blazing red. . "Let's get out of here together!" He shouted to be understood over the loud crashing sound. [HOOOONG!] Space seemed to c***k under such pressure. The earth split around two of them split seconds before a dusty mist blanketed all four Chosen. All of quiet for a while. Everyone of them had taken some sort of damage from the attack. ..... . "Ptuuui!" Aeries wasn't doing well either, first was the rebound from using such a dangerous technique, and although he did not reduce his vitality due to the possession of the Crystal Core, He still received damage to his soul. Next was the technique itself, When the Blood Shattering Arts was activated with the core, the strain on him tripled, pushing him to no end. And finally, the result itself was disastrous. The few meters he stood before the two Chosen was almost negligible, and in his haste to catch them unaware, he fell into the brunt of his attack. It wasn't that he did not calculate this... But he greatly underrated the Third Form with such a high-quality Core fused to it. . The explosion created a mushroom cloud the covered the whole street. Aeries was flunged far out, only coming to a halt after smashing through several buildings. . "This truly is a bad day for me" He was grinning sheepishly even though he said this with tired eyes. No apparent increase in strength, but still he had defeated the very first set of 'chosens' that dropped by... And they were three! "I should probably end things here. I need to drop by at the Capital before leaving." ' Huh? Those three are still alive, as expected from the Chosen... none of us are ordinary.' .. Troll had awakened in a pitiful state. While he was in dreamland, having fainted due to the impact of his crippled cultivation; he suddenly felt a jolting force, which unfortunately had been Aeries jarring skill... Pushing Troll's body to near extinction. . *Coughs, Coughs* "That bastard! Am going to do some whack job with his b*tching mom!" Other profanities were held suddenly, his face scrunched up in fright as he turned to the solitary shadow standing beside him. "What do you want!? Please, Don't kill me! Ahhhhh!" [BASH!!] . An Axe swooped down and covered his sight. Just like this... One of the Chosen died at Aeries hand. Troll had no Qi on him except some stored in his Fleshy body since Aeries had destroyed his Shang Sea. But it wasn't over yet. "Oi! Isn't what you're doing the same as us? Tell me why do you still annihilated him even though he begged." Rogue shouted. . Aeries made no effort to reply to that question, he had watched the Live Video of the introductory battle between the Chosen... Yes, it was that Troll! He had butchered an old man serving as the breadwinner and even killed every of the family members of the targeted Chosen... Then he bashed the Chosen's head repeatedly with his Club. There wasn't any meaning as to why he did that, just for fun. Aeries had got disgusted with that and also his vulnerability when he watched such barbaric act, he had then decided to put a pause over it all. . Next, Aeries stepped toward the remaining two, he made his choice and moved to The Fool's side. "Stop! Leave her alone!" Rogue eyes turned red. 'Woaw! I now look the bad guy?' "You can't kill me!!!" The Fool shouted hysterically before shoving her hidden dagger at Aeries. Surprisingly, the dagger sank into Aeries's thigh. With his empty Qi reserves, although he 'saw' the dagger and even its predestined path, he nevertheless could not evade that blow. Bringing forth a new sensation like being bitten by a cobra. . 'f**k! Her Daggers do have poison.' "Just die, okay?" He pushed her down, before preparing to swing the Axe. "AHhhhh!" The Fool went berserk and thrashed about. Numerous poison tools and defense artifacts were removed out from her Space ring and hurled at Aeries, at the end, his weak effort made the Axe rebound out of his hand. . Aeries himself becoming too weak to stand straight. He fell on her in an attempt to finish her off. "You, Just stay steady, I'll be soft" He had his lips pursed. They truly make it hard. Rogue had no strength left, he could only stare fixating-ly at the scuffle beside him. "Stop... Please!" But still, Aeries made no pause in his constant pushing. Finally paid off with him sitting on The Fool's abdomen, with his hands tighten around her neck... "Let... me... just... Send you off!" He gasped weakly, The Fool made no effort to compromise, her poison diffusing on Aeries body, when she saw all her struggles were futile, she screamed in desperation "Please! I'll do anything for you! Just don't kill me! I-if you do you're going to be a murderer! same as me! You'll be no different from those vagabonds and Troll... and me! Do you understand?" . "Just Sleep!" Came Aeries Monotone reply. [Snap!] Her wrinkled face twitched a bit before turning to an unappeased calm. Finally, there was silence throughout the whole city. Sprawled on the ground were littered bodies that had experienced the cruelty of man. Although Aeries had arrived early, hundreds of lives were still lost. Farmers died, weapon smiths butchered, Traders massacred. Four figures were nestled closely together, with few metres separating them. Of these four, Two laid slumped on the muddy ground... No breath escaping their lips. . "So, make me understand. killing them, is that not the same as becoming a devil? Is that not the same as becoming us? I followed The Fool to kill as I please for one reason, which was to rank up quickly to protect Mama... to hide Mama for myself. . The Fool killed to become stronger, so she could protect herself from dirty bastards. The Troll takes trinkets from the people he killed because he believes he could make them his friends... And you kill for vengeance, for protection. Tell me... are we different?" Rogue's tired voice sighed softly. This was the same question he had been mulling over for quite a long time. He had woken up with no memories of his past, only the same monotone Voice of the System to keep him company for this long. . He had asked her a question... and she had replied! To him only. So he believed their connection was something more, something to protect. So he did everything just for that reason. But then, he was called a monster. "I know people hate me up till the last breath of their lives. I know it's bad to take parents from their mothers. But have they ever thought about me? I need to grow stronger or I'll die, and there'll be no me and mama. Tell me Scourge... Aren't we the same?" Right now, even Plaque was silent, purposely contemplating Rogue's words. Everywhere was silent. Wind blew up dust particles To and fro. After seconds of silence, Aeries got to his feet steadily, He's eyes shown with a strong him of brilliance and clarity. "Rogue, I want you to live and ponder about these three words: Cause And Effect!!!" As if a hammer struck down on their hearts, Aeries words brought a profound meaning to all of it. . Law of Karma, Whatever you do comes back towards you. "I won't kill you until you gain enlightenment and see your wrongs. I want you to have a sort of happy smile on your face for once. Acknowledge the existence of Karma." "Now... It's time for my breakthrough to the Martial General Realm.... . Finished!
