JESSICA
The guards dumped me at the entrance of the mansion and turned to leave.
"You can't leave me here!" I screamed as they walked away. "My father is an Alpha!"
As if I didn't even exist, they ignored my tantrums. I watched, heartbroken as they made their way back to the mansion and I cursed through gritted teeth.
A few hours ago, I was the financial secretary of the Carlson Corporations, and I had a roof over my head. Now, I had nothing. My step mother had thrown me out of the family house, with the expectation that I would get mated to Tristan, but things had gone sour now.
That brought a new question. Where was I going to spend the night? The thought of sleeping alone on the cold streets of New Jersey made me shudder in fear. As the daughter of an Alpha, I had too many enemies, and thus, it was too dangerous for me.
I had to find a way, and I had to find it quickly. The day was getting darker with each passing minute.
After considering my options for a while, I decided to try Tristan again, but this time with a different approach.
I marched up to the door of the mansion and even though he pretended like he couldn't see me coming, I knew he did. All the windows in his mansion were glass and thus, transparent.
I banged on the door of the mansion with balled fists as I screamed.
"Let me in you jerk! You can't leave me to spend the night on the streets!"
I banged on the door continuously, but Tristan didn't even budge. His eyes remained fixed on the paper lying on a table in front of him, and finally, I grunted in frustration.
He was ignoring me on purpose.
Lightening flashed almost immediately, followed closely by the sound of thunder, and in a matter of minutes, the rain was pouring down in torrents.
I shivered as I felt the first drops of rain on my skin. It was going to be a cold night and I had no home to go. I turned to the window, and I saw Tristan. He watched as the rain poured down on me, and I wondered how stone hearted he must be, not to even feel a little bit of guilt.
After another minute of standing under the rain, I finally gave up. It was pointless, waiting for him. He was not going to budge. I turned on my heels and trudged under the rain.
The skirt suit I wore was soaked, and it clung uncomfortably to my body, but that was the least of my concerns at the moment. Where was I going to spend the night? How was I going to face my stepmother after this rejection? I knew Luna Rachel very well. She was never going to allow me step foot in that house again.
My mind was scattered with different thoughts as I crossed the road and I didn't see the car coming until it was too late.
I let out a shrill scream as the bright flashing headlights blotted out my vision, and just when I thought I was going to be crushed to the tarred road, I felt a strong pair of arms on my waist.
Everything happened in a flash, and the next minute, I was sitting on the pavement by the side of the road, with just a small cut on my left knee.
I glanced up to see Tristan standing over me. He was now shirtless and I noticed the tattoo of a huge black wolf on his chest. As I stared at his rock hard abs, I briefly wondered how I had not noticed the tattoo before.
"f**k it, Jessica. You have to concentrate!" I repeated to myself, over and over again.
I stood to my feet with much difficulty and he watched me as I stood. Our eyes met for a brief second and then I turned around, prepared to make my leave. Tristan wasn't planning on letting me off so easily however.
He grabbed me by my left arm and spun me around in a flash.
"Is that the way to say thank you to the man that saved your life?" He grunted.
I swallowed hard at his words. Truly, he had saved my life, but then, I had no plans of thanking him. After all, he was the reason I had almost gotten hit by the car. If he had just saved me the trouble and continued with the initial proposal, all this wouldn't have happened.
"I have nothing to thank you for," I finally found my voice. "I almost got run over by that car, thanks to you!"
"Me?" He frowned. "I saved your life, young lady!"
I could see a slight shade of red flash across his eyes as he spoke and I knew he was getting angry. Had he really expected me to be all over him, after the way he treated me?
"Whatever you say, Tristan," I said and turned to take my leave. "Have a good night."
He caught me by the left arm again and spun me around. His dark eyes bored into mine for a whole minute before he spoke again.
"Who are you?" He snarled. "And how do you know Tristan?"
I glared hard at him, confused. What was he trying to do now?
"Look, I don't have time for your games," I said. "You rejected me, fine. Now, let me be on my way."
His gaze on me softened, and before I could breathe a word in protest, he leaned down towards me and kissed me.
At first, I tried to pull away, but in a matter of seconds, I found myself kissing him back. I wrapped my arms around his neck as his tongue explored my mouth. My senses were getting duller every passing second, and I could feel a rising heat in the pit of my stomach as the kiss intensified. All the pent up emotions from the heart wrenching discovery of my cheating mate, I emptied into the kiss, and when he pulled away finally, I found myself breathless and longing for another feel of the stranger's lips.
"I would never reject you," He said. "You're a beauty."
He cupped my cheek and closed in for another kiss but I pulled away at once. Something felt so odd about him.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Leo," A familiar voice replied behind me.
I spun around and my eyes went wide in shock as I saw Tristan standing right in front of me.
Who then was this man I had just kissed.
I stood confused, flanked by the two men under the rain and I muttered a prayer to the goddess to spare my life.
"Leo Rodriguez," Tristan repeated. "My little brother and one third of the Rodriguez triplets."
Slowly, the realization began to hit me - they were identical triplets. That meant there was a third brother lurking close by.
All my senses were tingling at that point. Suddenly, I was no longer interested in saving my father's life. I had to get out of there at once.
"Nice to meet you two," I muttered. "But I would love to take my leave now."
I turned to leave but I felt a strong hand on my shoulder.
"You are mine now, mate," Leo hissed. "You are not leaving."
And before I could say a word in protest, he grabbed me by the arm and started towards the mansion.
